Why are you guys talking about the past? Buffalo was an awesome dynasty back in the 90's, but they couldn't win the big one. Seattle has had a pretty mediocre history, but they have been better than Buffalo in recent years.
This year I believe Buffalo will continue to be irrelevant, but I am curious to see their rookie RB, CJ Spiller. I think Seattle will struggle as well, but I would bet my avatar for a month that they finish with a better record than Buffalo.
@Tails - Yes, they still have Housh. By the way, how do you feel about your Bengals this year? I bet you are

I don't see much to get excited about with the Hawks. Especially not with Pete Carroll at the helm.

Typical Bengals would be lose it all, which is what I feel. It's some Cinci curse since Paul Brown died. They can't keep up, even if they have the same team the Colts do. They are a bad luck team, and with double bad luck turned into good luck. They were in hard knocks last year and the first time a team who was on it was in the playoffs. Seems like a good example.
I think they won't even contend this year.

Detroit i know won't contend this year because they lack a better coaching staff...

I'm shocked to hear you say that! The Bengals won the AFC Central last year and went undefeated in their division.
The Steelers have all sorts of issues and the Browns are the Browns. The only team I see giving the Bengals a run at the division is the Ravens.

I've been a fan of the Bengals all my life, I know them, they competed with a 4th place ranking last year. Now they got a 1st place ranking this year, they won't do it. Maybe 8-8.

Well, it's not like we can talk about the future or anything. All we have is speculation based on how they've done in the past.
That and I never root for the Seahawks, they just aren't a good team.
GO PACKERS!

I think Tomlin is one of the greatest young coaches in the game. That visualization technique is just another example of his coaching genius!
On an individual player basis, I do think Mendenhall is in line for a huge year.

So, you want lots of penalty's this year? Even more than the Bengals?
I mean how hard is it to not get a penalty? I sure know the Bengals have a bad time with it.. I like the team, cuz I was born and raised on that and the Reds, but this crap that happens really pisses me off.

I'm not going to think about that. I think Indianapolis will kill in its division this year.

You'd think so, but the AFC South is probably the best division in football.
Houston continues to improve and Jacksonville can beat anyone on any given week. Throw in Tennessee, and you've got yourself a VERY scary division.
I'll be the contrarian and pick Houston to win the division this year. Watch out for their RB, ARIAN FOSTER.

I thought Jacksonville sucked?
I'd think the Packers/Lions(lulz besides them)/Viking/Bear division is pretty tough too. All of them cept the lions made a play offs within the last 5 years.

Re: NFL
Because the Packers are just that good, and they didn't get worse when they "lost" Favre to the Vikings Favre just isn't good anymore. But yeah, the division is pretty good. The Vikings are good too.

Until he passed the ball right in the hands of the other team. There was no one from his team in that area, and it was a playoff game or something.
So how 'bout them Cowboys?

Favre did do good. I think DM knows crap about Football. One pass does not compute if someone is good or not, it was an error.

Re: NFL
Yeah man, the fact that his 60 year old arm got them to the playoffs is pretty impressive I think.
---------- Post added at 06:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:40 AM ----------
Haha. I just went to NFL.com to look at stats. Favre had his highest QB rating of his career last season. It was also his third highest season for passing yards, and he also threw the least amount of interceptions he ever has in a season. And 33 touchdowns.
Sorry to call you out DM, but last season was one of Favre's best seasons he's ever had according to the stats.

A pass that could have easily been made, one that lost a playoff game, it does have an impact on how good they are.

According to stats, yes it was one of his best seasons, but he still screwed up, sure it is only one error, but next season it will turn into two, then four, then eight, until he isn't even good enough to be in the NFL anymore.

Yeah, but when you make one error in a season and every other quarterback in the league makes a minimum of 5, that makes you the best quarterback in the league.
Yeah, he made a bad one in an important game, but there are a lot of QBs in the league who didn't even get the opportunity to lose the big game because they lsot all the small games.
