EVG has a much more noticeable name and it's older. I assume those two things have a lot to do with it.

I accept no responsibility for this.
{kidding}
I haven't been to EVG for a while since I have less time than I did before and so was forced to choose one or the other.
No offence to EVG but RU is just so much more active.
Also, I love Coin - op games so much, I can't resist.

I was never involved with EVG. I'm probably not the only member who wasn't.

Re: How did you find Retrouprising?
There's definitely many people who never heard of EVG until they joined RU. It's just one of the most common ways people hear about the site.

Re: How did you find Retrouprising?
I definitely heard of EVG before RU but I haven't really logged into that. If I did, I don't remember. There might have been another version that wasn't quite called everyvideogame.com as well but I'm not sure.
I keep coming back because it's legal!

Was it EveryNintendoGame.com, onVGP.com or OnlineVideoGamePlayer.com?

Re: How did you find Retrouprising?
I cant remember how i found out about this site.It was either a friend telling me or just stumbling across it searching for nes games. But am so glad i found it the sites great and have had a trip down memory lane playing some of the games.I have always loved the older titles from my youth and consider them way more fun and captivating(although i am so glad you can use the xbox pad).I am looking forward to picking my brain and remembering some great titles and talking to some likeminded people.Now....wheres Castlevania?

Re: How did you find Retrouprising?
About four years ago, give or take, I was searching on google for SNES games I could play online. Eventually I found everyvideogame.com. It didn't have SNES, but it was a good start. Jumping ahead to around two years ago, I started strolling through the EVG forums because I was bored with the incredibly limited selection of games that site had (EVG had far from every video game). It was just by chance that I found a link to RU in somebody's signature. I clicked, and instantly fell in love with this site when I saw it had SNES games. And I never gave EVG a second glance...

Unless you break the rules or otherwise offend someone I say it's to Barra's credit for having brought you to RU.
It's always nice when we get new members.

Re: How did you find Retrouprising?
I found RU from Dudebro telling me about it. Being a gamer since '77, I've had an Atari 2600 and 7800 and almost every Sega system. Just seeing these games again, let alone playing them, sure brings back a lot of memories. I still suck at them even today, like I did back then.

Welcome to RU glad to see you signed up. It's good to have more people who actually played these games when they were new.

Re: How did you find Retrouprising?
I had to check to make sure that I wouldn't be necro-posting again :P. I found RU through an individual that I met through Everyvideogame.com; I was trying to find a game (I believe it was Faxanadu) and EVG.com didn't have it so he mentioned here and it's been where I go for old games since. It's a much better UI and so many more games.
Thanks for the friendly welcome to RU and I hope to spend more time here.
