There wasn't much to be invited to. We signed a marriage license last Friday and had a pastor at our house 4 hours ago to do the ceremony in private.
We plan to have an actual wedding (anniversary?) party some time in the future. I'll remember to invite you. It'll probably be a cosplay wedding so plan a costume.

I guess if that's what you two wanted. So where are you off to on your honeymoon?

Unfortunately SH's parents had unknowingly booked a trip to Paris that they simply couldn't cancel.

Your parent are too embarrassed to go to a furry wedding.

No raucous stag party? No romantic little get-a-way? Kids these days and their rushing into things... Not to be Dudebro Downer or anything but don't you think it would have been more prudent to live with each other for a few years? Knowing someone and living with them are two different things. What's the point of rushing into a marriage? Do you two think so little of your vows to each other that it seemed like a fun thing to do on a whim? You seem to be skipping important and enjoyable life steps such as engagement, all the planning that goes into a wedding, and such. I mean, it seems to downplay the whole marriage thing all-together. Like "oh hey, I'm married now" instead of "we're preparing to take a momentous step forward in our lives, together."
Sorry, I'm happy for you both and wish you nothing but good things but I wouldn't consider myself a decent friend if I didn't voice my concerns for your life choices.

I 100% agree with tenser however I was unsure if I should post or not as I didn't want to step on any toes and say the wrong thing. If I do I sincerely apologize and I am writing this to be a friend as I respect you and wish you nothing but the best but I just want to say this now.
I obviously don't really know nothing of your relationship with your wife other than you first met her last October after meeting on the internet. That's really fast and really rushing it. I should know like you I was in an Internet relationship that not only I wanted to marry her in a fast time frame without really knowing her even though the red flags were in the wind.
For me it was more of being afraid of her being absolutely real. She seemed too.. I dunno perfect to be true. It took me 3 years of knowing her to see what others saw in her that she wasn't no angel she was manipulative and controlling and made me go up the wall so bad that I alienated friends and said stuff to many people I shouldn't have said. She kept on getting mad at me because I refused to go see her but it honestly scared me due to change. I'm terrible with change and I need a push to do things. I mean this girl would scream and yell at me, if she didn't get her way on collectoons she'd threaten to break up with me and my mind set was "someday this will all be worth it". Boy was I wrong! I was always there for her but she wasn't there for me the way she should have been she was too focused on molding me into something that I don't want to be and I don't think she'll ever truly realize that.
My point is this. Tenser is absolutely right and this is why the divorce rate is so high. Now I'm hoping yours last forever but there's no way you have truly got to know her fully in 6 months. Ive seen many jerry springer episodes focused on this scenario and its not pretty. I wish you the best and I hope you have a great life and kids and everything in between but like tenser I'm very concerned.
If you'd like to talk about this don't be afraid to message me, I'd like at least someone benefit from the hell I went through.

Re: Retro Uprising's BEST THREAD EVER!!
This is certainly quick but what's the big deal if it doesn't work out in the end? Is she gonna claim half of SHs student loan debts or something? Not to mock SH but unless they have a kid it won't be that bad. Life is short, I say do what(or who) makes you happy. Good luck SH. My only advice is don't take her for granted and make her happy. If you do that you'll be happy.

It's weird, I'm seeing tons of people in my age range getting married and having kids now. Guess I'm getting older.

Re: Retro Uprising's BEST THREAD EVER!!
heres my view on the rushing part: if ya'll dont already know, they've known each other for a VERY very long time. So they've had most of their life talking to each other knowing each other etc., so if they werent compatible they would have know many ages ago

Obviously something I didn't know and imo that definitely isn't rushing it at all. I'm glad.
