Alright
Jojo!
What an excellent interview!
I loved to play
Galaxian »
Coin Op when I would go to the Arcade; it's truly one of the classics of all time and I felt it fit perfectly between
Space Invaders »
Coin Op and
Galaga »
Coin Op
{and pulling me away from the machine was standard procedure, not that I was very good, I just loved the games}
Aart really took me back whilst reminiscing of the Arcades of yesteryear; I remember being so thrilled by the sights and sounds of those classic Arcades, to me it was like going to a concert or something ... it makes me think someone could do really well to open an Arcade today, featuring all the classic retro games.
Believe it or not, there is a shop on Main Street here in Vancouver that repairs/rents/sells classic cabinet games {dedicated machines - along with pinball machines and jukeboxes}so obviously someone still has interest in them.
There is one Arcade still on Granville Street, but it's kind of seedy and has those 'Adult movie' booths in the back ... so I don't like it very much.
