Regrowth

This is now my second play through of what I consider the best mod pack to be introduced to Minecraft.

Regrowth is a modpack all about very slow and steady progression from scant resources. Your overall mission is to revitalize the world, to bring it back to life. There is no plant life. No passive mobs will spawn outside of squid. There are no ores in the ground, no villages to plunder. You have only two biomes; wasteland and ocean.

I run through the day by punching the dead trees which drop planks (not logs), sticks, and rarely charcoal and wood ash. Punching the slate drops flint. Using the sticks and flint I can make rudimentary tools, a pick, sword, hatchet, shovel, and mattock.

I spend the rest of the day punching dead grass. This occasionally drops wheat seeds, belladonna seeds (used in witchery), pasture seeds (grows grass on dirt), clay, bonemeal, and floral fertilizer.

I have to stay very close to spawn because there's no map and it will be a long time before I can afford to waste string to make a bed and set my spawn.

As night draws I burrow underground and start a basic Tinker's Construct set up to make use of the night. Turning in my quests I'm awarded with some extra bonemeal, 12 apples (my only food right now), and a curved guard stencil. The curved guard stencil is quite nice because it's a "secret" stencil that can not be made and can normally only be found in villager chests. Thus if I lose it, I'll never be able to get another.
