RPG characters.

RPG's are my favorite games. One of the key parts for any, for me are the characters. They are the basis for the story, and any rpg without a good story is trash .
So, discuss your favorite RPG characters.

Barret-Final Fantasy 7

I love Barret. If you don't know who he is, just think Mr. T with a machine gun grafted to his arm. A foul-mmouthed roughhouser with a heart of solid gold.

Garret- Golden Sun

Garret is a Fire Adept in Golden Sun. Issac(the main character)'s best friend, Garret is hotheaded and sometimes ignorant. He is a physically powerful character who uses fire based Psyenergy

Guy-Final Fantasy 2 (Japan)

Guy dosen't say much. Not that he really needs to. He's the muscle in this game. The game had a freaky leveling system, so you could get his axe level skyhigh, and give him one in each hand and watch the carnage .
( Click to show/hide )
Guy can also speak beaver!

RPG characters.

Hmm...my favorite characters from RPGs, eh? Very interesting topic, good sir. With all the games that I've played, it would be tough to pick just a select few, but lets give it a half-hearted attempt!

Entire Cast - Lunar: Silver Star, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, Lunar: Legend

This is a game that is chock-full of colorful and memorable characters. Alex, Nall, Luna, Ramus, Nash, Mia, Jessica, Kyle, Ghaleon, Laike...the list can go on and on. If there are any RPG fans out there that haven't played this game in any of its forms, I highly recommend that you do.

Kabuki Danjuro - Tengai Makyo II: Manjimaru, Tengai Makyo: Fuun Kabukiden, Kabuki Klash, Kabuki Ittoryoudan, Tengai Makyo: Karakuri Kakutoden, Denden no Den, Saturn Bomberman

Ninety-nine percent of you probably have no idea what Tengai Makyo is, but it is an RPG series that is host to a number of memorable and colorful characters. Kabuki was originally a support character in TM2, but was so popular that he spawned off his own side-story game! An egotistical stage-actor with a severe soft-spot for the ladies, Kabuki is loud-mouthed yet lovable and definitely one of the most out-spoken main characters to ever grace any RPG.

Mag Launcher - Evolution, Evolution 2, Evolution Worlds

The happy-go-lucky main character of the Evolution series, Mag is a go-getter with an optomistic outlook on life. A bit rash and outspoken at times, due to his young age, he can usually fight his way out of any jam he gets himself into thanks to his Cyframe; a giant mechanical hand mounted to his shoulder.

Torneko Taloon - Dragon Quest IV, Torneko's Great Adventure: Mysterious Dungeon, Torneko: The Last Hope, Torneko's Great Adventure 3

That's right, it's everyone's favorite opportunistic merchant from Dragon Quest IV, Torneko! A salesman by trade, Torneko has come to the reluctant realization that in order to sell the rarest of treasures...he has to find them first! A coward turned adventurer, Torneko's greed keeps him going as he ventures into myserious dungeons in search of treasure and riches.

I would have listed Kefka myself, but I figured that it would leave you with one less character to name yourself.

I like the entire character list for FF3 (or 6).

Terra Branford is a girl of mysterious origins born with the power of magic. In the Japanese versions of the game, her name is Tina Branford. Terra is the first character to be introduced and her background is pivotal to the events of the first half of the story. In the Japanese versions of the game, her job class is given as "Magic Fighter"; the GBA version gives her class as "Magitek Elite".

Locke Cole is a thief, secondary character, though he personally prefers to identify himself as a "treasure hunter." In the Japanese versions of the game, his name is spelt Lock Cole. In the Japanese and GBA versions, his job class is given as "Adventurer".

Edgar Roni Figaro is king of Figaro, and secret ally of the Returners. He is also the older twin brother of Sabin. In the Japanese versions of the game, his job class is given as literally "Machinery," but is more fitting as "Machinist", which the GBA version uses.

Sabin Rene Figaro leaves his royal heritage behind in order to train himself in martial arts. He is the younger twin brother of Edgar. In the Japanese versions of the game, his name is Mash Rene Figaro. In the Japanese and GBA versions, his job class is given as "Monk."

Celes Chere is a former general of the Empire, genetically enhanced and artificially infused with magic, making her the second MagiTek Knight. In the Japanese and GBA versions of the game, her job class is given as "Rune Knight."

Setzer Gabbiani owns the Blackjack and later helps the party find the Falcon; these are the only functional airships in the world. In the Japanese and GBA versions of the game, his job class is given as "Gambler."

Shadow is a paid assassin and mercenary. He is accompanied by his faithful dog, Interceptor. In the Japanese and GBA versions of the game, his job class is given as "Assassin."

Cyan Garamonde hails from Doma, a nation at war with the Empire, where he serves as loyal retainer to Doma's king. In the Japanese versions of the game, his name is Cayenne Garamonde. In the Japanese and GBA versions, his job class is given as "Samurai."

Gau is a feral child who lives among the animals on the Veldt. In the Japanese versions of the game, his job class is given as "Wild Child", whereas the GBA version uses "Feral Youth".

Mog is a moogle who, like all of his species, lives within the caves of Narshe. He is distinguished from all the other moogles encountered in that he can speak human language. In the Japanese and GBA versions of the game, his job class is given as "Moogle".

Strago Magus is an elderly mage living in the village of Thamasa. He is a descendant of the ancient Mage Warriors who fought the War of the Magi. In the Japanese versions of the game, his name is Stragus Magus. In the Japanese and GBA versions, his job class is given as "Blue Mage".

Relm Arrowny is a ten year old artist from the village of Thamasa. Her adoptive Grandfather (of no relation) is Strago Magus. In the Japanese and GBA versions of the game, her job class is given as "Pictomancer."

Gogo is a mysterious stranger, completely shrouded in multicolored fabric, and trained in the art of mimicry. (S)he is one of two secret characters in the game. In the Japanese and GBA versions of the game, his/her job class is given as "Mime".

Umaro is a yeti found in the isolated depths of the mines of Narshe. He is one of two secret characters in the game. In the Japanese and GBA versions of the game, his job class is given as "Yeti".

EDIT: Just some more information about FF3 (or 6).

Upon its release in 1994, Final Fantasy VI received a positive reception from most major gaming publications of the time. GamePro gave it a perfect 5 out of 5 score, while Electronic Gaming Monthly granted a 9 out of 10 in its October issue and named it game of the month over Earthworm Jim and Mortal Kombat II.[11][9] Additionally, Electronic Gaming Monthly later ranked the game ninth in its 1997 list of the 100 greatest console games of all time, and when it was rereleased for the PlayStation, the same magazines rated it 4 out of 5 and 9.5 out of 10, respectively.[59] For their part, Nintendo Power declared the game "the RPG hit of the decade",[60] noting its improved sound and graphics over its predecessors, as well as the game's scope. Moreover, they suggested that "with so much story and variation of play ... fans may become lost in the world for months at a time".[61] They also ranked it in the top 40 in their "Top 200 games on a Nintendo Platform" saying "Is this the best Final Fantasy ever?... Quite Possibly"

Lyn from Fire Emblem (FE:Rekka no Ken in Japan). High speed and skill. Critical hits. Carries around a sword called the Mani Katti, and later, bows. Belongs in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. 'Nuff said.

you have to like Zidane from FF9.

how could you not like a monkey-man?!

also, sticking to FF, apart from Guy (whom Tek had to steal:mad:) from FFIV (Japan) Edward, the 'Spoony Bard' had to come in.

any of the Cid's from the games have to come in, andthe one i chose was from FFIV again.

obviously one other character that you knew was coming. i dont think i need a name either
-=Deleted by Tenser=-

you could see that one coming and anyway, i prefer Irvinne, from the same game. -=Deleted by Tenser=-
hes your ladies man in the game, only, as with any decent ladies man, he gets rejected by every lass he asks out XD

and, last but not least, my all-time favourite, Kain!

he was the best in that game, only he had to go and get himself hypnotised, didnt he! anyway, i always liked having him in my team, because you wouldnt die as quick and even if everyone else died, you could still live, because he was out of harms way

My 3 favorite RPG characters are,
Lloyd Irving-Tales of Symphonia
Kratos Aurion-Tales of Symphonia
Zidane-FF9
I like Lloyd because he's dumb but can be serious.
I like Kratos because he is just kewl.
I like Zidane because he is the main character of the first RPG I ever played Final Fantasy 9

I've been wanting to play Chrono Trigger for some time; I know there's some good characters (Frog, Robo, Lucca, etc.) but I don't have a SNES. However I've heard about FF Chronicles for the PS1, which I do have, and it comes with CT and FF4, but I heard there's some issues with lag and things like that. On the plus side, it has some sort of anime FMVs. Additionally, I could get Chrono Cross, but something tells me I should play CT first. So, what should I do?

That would be illegal. You need to own the system and the games you download to get an emulator or ROMS. You will get this warning just about anywhere you download it. Also, I believe the rule is that if you don't own the game, you need to delete it within 24 hours of downloading it.

Just to clarify the situation. Downloading any ROM, whether you own the game or not is illegal. We do not allow people to download ROMs or emulators here.

There are very few similarities between Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. You could honestly play either of them in any order. Of course, Chrono Trigger is the far superior game in the series.

1) Your spell-checker messed with your post. A critic is a person who critiques, i.e. you meant critics, not critiques.

2) What's the opposite of a critique? You can just as easily have a good critique as a bad critique.

There are three teams here that participate in various types of tournaments or challenges from time to time. They are River City, Dungeons & Drag Queens, and Space Knights. The teams can only have a small amount of members and are on an invite-only system of induction for new members.

While only the members of River City can really say whether or not you should or shouldn't have their banner in your signature, it could be distracting or misleading to some people. Do what you wish unless they say otherwise.
