Hello from NintendoNerds

Hello everyone

I just wanted to introduce myself here. This site was either referred to me or recommended by the following members: Tenser, Tails, Ninjatiamat, and Dudebro. I actually hesitated joining up here for a few reasons. The main reason I hesitated was because I'm the admin for my Forum...the NintendoNerds Forum. The other reason I hesitated was because none of the games would play in my web browser. I had to update Java directly from the Sun Microsystems site. Every time I tried updating Java from the console, it said that I had the most current update...which I obvisously did not.

Anyway, I'm happy to be here and already know some of the members here so I am looking forward to being a part of this community

Oh...also, would one of the Mods or Admins look into something for me? When I attempted to register as "NintendoNerds" it said that the username was already being used. I could have swore that I signed up a while back but never posted. Well, I tried logging in as "NintendoNerds" and could not. I even had an email sent to me with the link for the password change and never received it...unfortunately. I'm just wondering if there's any way I can get that username...it's me and "NNerds" just isn't me. So, if there's anyway (pretty please) for me to get that name, I would truly appreciate it.

Cool. I don't know alot about how everything here works but I'll pick it up with the help from everyone here I am sure. Hey...one thing...I didn't see a thread about the signature sizes. Do the signatures here stretch by default?

Intergrated :-*. There is no signature size but it's frowned apon to have it 50 feet tall.

Actually, that wasn't my question. The signature I have is stretched. How do I make it the original size...or do I have to get one that is sized for the stretched dimensions?

I fixed your name.
For your Java problem try this

To upgrade visit this page
http://www.java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp

After upgrading reboot.

That should work for nearly everyone. If it did not work for you then continue on with the next part.

In rare cases your old version of Java will not uninstall properly causing the upgrade to not work. Normally this is caused by having "Java Version: 1.4 from Microsoft" installed. If this happens to you then try the following.

Download and run Microsoft Java VM Uninstall Program.
Reboot.
Download and install Java again.
Reboot.

If that doesn't work then post in the Help board your OS, Browser and version and the version of Java, if any, that is installed.

I already resolved the issue with Java. I just had to go directly to the Sun Microsystems site and update from there. Thank you for the information though.

The site shouldn't auto-adjust the dimensions of any image in your signature. As for what sizes and/or styles are appropriate, that's a case-by-case judgement by the mods.

I think this issue is getting overly complicated here. I never wanted to know about signature dimensions. I was using a browser (IE) that would not return the PNG correctly like it was supposed to...it was stretching it like this:

IE6 doesn't handle PNG's like it should. I used Firefix and everything worked fine. It was definitely not this forum...it was a browser issue.
