After the long wait, Dead Rising 2 is finally here, but how does it fare up?

I can't wait to get this game.

It looks pretty cool, but I doubt Im gonna get it. I played Left 4 Dead games but I didnt really like them too much. So I doubt I will enjoy Dead Rising 2.

Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising 2 play very differently.

Yeah the difference is like night and day. The only similar things are zombies and surviving.

I dunno, maybe GTA? It has elements of sandbox games but it has quests that you have to complete(which are usually not very fun).

I dont like GTA, so I probably wont like this game. I'll rent a demo maybe, and see if I like it or not.

GTA is not accurate really besides the free roam part. I'm at a loss for a comparable game.

So it has free roaming, quests, main story. Seems like some sort of Fallout 3 to me.

Most of the quests in the first Dead Rising were escort quests which are usually very tedious. It was fun to create all sorts of different ways to kill zombies but it got old really, really quick. DR2 seems to be more of the same just with a different setting and an annoying little girl tagging along.

Most annoying thing about the Dead Rising series; why does it take so many more bullets to kill a human than it does a zombie?

I know what you mean about tediousness and getting old quick. That's exactly how I felt about it.

I guess it's one of those games you either love or hate.
I know a bunch of friends that love Dead Rising.

In fact, ScrewAttack said Dead Rising was the greatest zombie game of all time.

If someone likes zombies, has a 360 and 19.99 to spare I suggest getting Dead rising 1. There's no other next gen zombie games besides L4D and that's just a FPS with a zombie horror theme.

I can't speak for that since I never played it. That being said I did see a trailer and it looks crappy with the Wiis limited graphics, ect. No trash talk, just what I saw.

@Tails- if they just port it over it will still be subpar. You need a new version designed for the PS3 or else it's not worth it.

Did you mean DB? If so then no I don't currently have DR but I did play the first one plenty. Why?

@Fenrir- that's happened more times than I can remember. Sadly it's only getting worse with the industry trying to kill rentals and some games not even having a demo version. They want you to buy it, they don't care if you actually like it once they have your money.
