I'm going to be releasing Tecmo Super Coach 2009-10 this month (June '09). Updated rosters, updated gameplay, updated strategic selection, updated everything! Check out the newly-created TSC Instruction Book I whipped up that includes all of the various gameplay updates...
(...Or not. I would post a link to the Instruction Book, in addition to some screenshots of the game's development that I've created, but this forum won't let me post links, unfortunately. I guess you're going to have to take my word on it?)
I think you need more posts before you can post links. Send the link to Tenser, sabby or I and we can add it to your post(I'm assuming this is legit since Tenser sent you here).
So what is this super coach thing? Also, I like your username.

Ah, the old 'more posts' anti-newb limit. Gotcha. I sent you the links / info. Thanks again, dude.

Uhhh.... who are you? What are you releasing? Is this an official release or a home-brew? Who are you working for?
I'm Maynard. I'm releasing Tecmo Super Coach 2009-10 (an original NES Mod/Hack of Tecmo Super Bowl). I work for myself, that is, when I'm not giving myself pink slips. Bad economy and all that.

This version has all 32 teams. As soon as Kong gets back from his vacation Maynard said we could run a copy of his game here. I can't wait to show those Ravens what for!
i posted on this topic on evg, but i'll do so again here, maynard, you might want to post some of the finer points, i.e., no user control during plays, just play calling, the blitz modifications and so on.
Is the no user control not self-explanatory in the title? EA made a football title called, "NFL Head Coach." Same results. That being said, choosing a play results in the QB having priority selection towards specific WRs in the various plays. While, no, it is not the same 'controlled' experience--that wasn't ever the point the ROM.
I'm afraid after two decades of TSB, I eventually grew tired of the 'zig-zag' maneuver. My goal was to create a smarter, more strategic TSB, while being able to do the things that I enjoy in my older age--such as smoking butts, drinking beer, and chatting with my buds while firing up a game to test their intellectual mettle. Same trash-talking event, less upfront need to be constantly active during play.
As for the no blitzing, it's written in the linked TSC instruction book. There are still blitzes in the game, but they're now called blitzes from a strategic standpoint, and not 'you-pick-the-same-play-as-I-do'. More football, less arcade.

Don't let me ruin this for you, it still sounds like a cool idea. I'm not a big sports fan and I prefer to run my own plays so I can alter them when I need to. I'll stick to next gen football games. I like to see myself juking and stiffarming in full 3-D. Even more so when it's a real person forced to watch my replays.
Oh, no worries on that. I started this MOD as a spoof for three of my buds. It developed into me trying to transform TSB for my own personal interests. The fact that communities in England have downloaded and sent me email expressing their interest in this modification is amusement enough, as I had never intended to even go this far with the game.
My visiting communities and putting a write-up here and there is simply to further the outlets where someone might find interest in this concept.
Oh, no, no. Not at all. I'm sure to stick around. My schedule is a little erratic is all. I have large lumps of time, and then none. I'm an actor/director of theater in Boston, and an executive director of my own independent theatre company. It's a busy life for me. I don't really play videogames anymore, just Tecmo, and I spend more time editing it now-a-days than I do playing it.
If anyone follows football, here's the spreadsheet I use to keep a listing of players to implement into Tecmo Super Coach 2009-10. Feel free to browse it and let me know about any glaring player / player jersey number omissions I've left out.
Note:
> Proper player portraits have not been set yet from last year's version.
> Several drafted selections / recent traded players have not been assigned jersey numbers yet. These players are indicated with "0"s. Again, if I'm omitted anyone who's been given a number, let me know.
I'm waiting until more finalized roster depth charts are released before finalizing SIM Data and Player Portraits.
>> UPDATE [06.10.09]: **See First Post for 'To-Do List'.
Greetings all,
Look for the latest BETA release to go public this week and (hopefully) tested by several online gaming communities for an official 1.0 release not long afterwards. Tecmo Super Coach 2009-10 is on its way!
Yeah, the Raiders are hurting, for sure. I'm about to move out to Southern California in the next couple of months, and I'm not looking forward to being under the umbrella of an Al Davis squad.
That being said, you might be able to coach them to some victories! ...We hope.
After several months and countless hours of work, Tecmo Super Coach 2009-10 [FINAL BETA] is available for download! If you give it a try, please provide any feedback you might have here in this thread, or to the feedback email address provided below. Community feedback is key to continuing to evolve this MOD.

For a complete listing of TSC 2009-10 updates, changes, and hacks, view the 'Instruction Book' HTML link within the download. I'll be posting a updated spreadsheet of the 2009-10 rosters once final and official depth charts are in from the NFL.
>> WHAT I'LL BE WORKING ON IN THE FUTURE:
1. FINAL VERSION 1.0 (Community Response Tweaks, Official NFL Depth Charts, Jersey Number Corrections, Portrait Corrections)
Once the official 1.0 version changes are made, Retro Uprising has kindly offered online hosting services so that TSC 2009-10 can be added to its collection of classic gaming. Nice.
