So I was reading a thread by ZeroAbyss : http://www.retrouprising.com/video-g...k-past/t14916/ and it got me thinkin... what were the top 3 SNES games? I'd say:
1.Final Fantasy 2
2.Final Fantasy 3
3.Super Mario World
I'm now now to do this poll, I am drunk and stoned, so please excuse any obvious omissions.
Okay well,I just finished a 21 choice poll, then hit a wrong button. I'm not doing it again, it consisted of games that start with "Super" and "Final", and a few others like Uniracers, and Sim City and StarFox and stuff.
Super Metroid > everything else.
lol just kidding but pretty much 85-90% of the SNES library is pretty damn good, so it's hard to say or pick the best.
Exactly my point. I just really try my best to avoid placing that on any Top list of anything, because I'm extremely biased when it comes to that game. In my eyes, the only flaw it has is that it becomes too easy after about two playthroughs since you memorize the route and the boss patterns. Of course you can make it challenging though by doing a suitless run, a RBO run, a minimum % run. . . all perfectly viable options as far as replay value goes because it's all within the game code and something you can actually do, instead of say, like, a TAS speedrun.
Damn... sober it's harder to choose... but well, those 3 games I choose were the first ones that came to my mind... But, Super Metroid, FF2, FF3 or Zelda could share the spot as well any of these days.
(Not going to traditionals, these are games that you shouldn't miss out on)
Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals - Best RPG Non Final Fantasy
Top Gear 3000 - Best Racer
Magical Quest: Starring Mickey Mouse - Best platformer
Super Ghouls and Ghosts - Best Challenge
Actraiser - Best Sim
Secret of Mana - Best 2/3 Player Aspect
King of Dragons - Best Arcade Port
Krusty's Super Fun House - Best Puzzler
Mario Paint - Best Kid's Game
Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer - Best Roguelike
NBA Jam - Best Sports Game
There you have it, my notes on games that aren't as popular or as talked about, but are worth a playthrough.
I consider myself an SNES expert, put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!
Some great games on that platform - consistently excellent. Some of my favourites:
Super Tennis
Link to the Past
Pilotwings
Top Gear
Wing Commander
For something different, try Detective Club - The Girl Who Stands Behind. A murder mystery game in which you have t solve the crime. Great story with excellent twists and turns.
