Re: Dreamcast Emulator
I had bad luck with those. I had one, and it eventually broke down. I went to a game store at a mall nearby, I got at least 3 of them, and they all stopped working within a day . so I stopped getting them from there

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
From a google search it looks like it you should use
chankast or nulldc or demul.
If you don't have a fast computer with a good video card I wouldn't even bother trying.

I found an nulldc emulator, but i have to find my game and try it out. My computer has somewhat decent speed, it just sucks at online gaming like call of duty, or anything with a lot of high detail graphics

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
First thing you need is a Dreamcast BIOS. After that, look for any "read me" type files in the emulators folder.

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
If I remember right, you'll probably need to mount the image file on a virtual disc drive - use the free version of daemontools for that.

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
Don't forget the fact that you need a few different things to get nullDC to work. The Visual C++ runtime and another one, if I remember correctly.

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
Then, find the Dreamcast BIOS and put it in the location requested by the emulater. After that, your problems should be solved.

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
That is what you want.
You must rename the BIOS to "dc_boot.bin", exactly. The case and name must be a perfect match to what it wants.

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
Well, exaclty what it sounds like.
You may not need to do it but, just in case:
How to Mount an Image to a Virtual Drive
When you download a game that should be on a disk, it is an "image" of the disk.

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
I downloaded an iso of the game, i go to the emulator, and go to normal boot, i open the iso i just downloaded, it does the dreamcast opening logo, Then a screen with the word sega, after a few seconds it says the program has stopped working
---------- Post added at 03:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:42 AM ----------
I went to dameon and went to mount and clicked the iso, but that didnt seem to do much. it puts stuff on that cd drive but i cant really do anything with it and im not sure what to look for. I tinkered with it for like 40 minutes, but got nothing. its 3:50 am, so I give up for now, but ill try tomorrow, if theres any more info/help.

Re: Dreamcast Emulator
The boot screen is what the BIOS provides so, your BIOS is in the right location and whatnot.
Once it is mounted, try to open it with the emulator.
Some games work, some games don't.
NullDC - Sega Dremcast : The most complete compatibility list
This should provide you with a good starting point at getting it to work.

Apparently, you need a file known as "dc_flash.bin" as well as "dc_boot.bin".
Delete the BIOS you have, and find those two seperate files.

Sega Bass Fishing? Not a fan of fishing games.
As soon as I get a better computer, I want to get a Dreamcast emulator so I can finally play Shenmue.
