Re: How many of the banned horror movies have you seen?

What do you mean banned? Banned where?

I have seen the following:
Cannibal Holocaust
The Evil Dead
I Spit on Your Grave
Inferno
Shogun Assassin

Cannibal Holocaust and I Spit On Your Grave are both ridiculous and I don't care to watch either of them again. The other 3 are fantastic films and some of my favorites.

Re: How many of the banned horror movies have you seen?

If you seen 3 of the banned films you should know that most of them were banned in 50 or 30 countries I beg to differ movie like spit on your grave and Cannibal Holocaust are two of my favorites.

Here's one of the song off the Cannibal Holocaust soundtrack for a movie that is as old as it is the soundtrack is still as good as when the film first came out we can't forget the disco beeps in some of the songs.

Shogun assassin is a horror movie?

This is a really good point. If you're talking about Germany or Australia then your list would be much longer. If you're talking about the US then the list is most likely shorter. I know Evil Dead/shogun assassin wouldn't be on there since you can buy them at any retail store.

  3. Barbarian Cannibals
  4. Don't Torture A Ducking

I've seen all 3 of the Vatican's banned movies. The first two were great.

Re: How many of the banned horror movies have you seen?

I still don't get why Shogun Assassin was included on the list of horror movies. Yeah it's bloody but it doesn't fit with the horror label at all.
Also Evil Dead is more comedy/parody than horror imo.

Re: How many of the banned horror movies have you seen?

When was evil dead banned? I know it was controversial but that's why they changed the 'blood' to all those crazy colours.

I've seen one but I can't remember the name of it. It was from the late 70's about a canibalistic dude. The reason it got banned was for the 'realism'. They used animal parts and blood for the gore. i.e. pig liver..for a humans etc.... Anyone remember the name? I know it sounds like most horror films.

Re: How many of the banned horror movies have you seen?

I know which one your talking about can't think of the name of the movie Anthropophagus was banned cause of the one part were the killer pulled a fetus out of her and started eating it which was a skinned rabbit with fake blood.

Believe it was banned when it came out in 1981 this is what I found out about it.

"Because of its graphic violence, the original version of the movie was banned in several countries, including [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finland"]Finland[/ame], [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany"]Germany[/ame], [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iceland"]Iceland[/ame] and [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ireland"]Ireland[/ame]. The "tree rape" scene in the movie was also described by some as being [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misogynistic"]misogynistic[/ame]. In [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany"]Germany[/ame], the movie's release was hindered by public authorities for almost 10 years. Original 1982 cinema and video releases of the movie had been seized, making the movie successful on the black market video circuit with pirated copies abounding. Several well-known horror enthusiasts publicly criticized the German ban on the movie, including author [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_King"]Stephen King[/ame] (who gave it a rave review in the November 1982 issue of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twilight_Zone_Magazine"]Twilight Zone[/ame]). A heavily edited version was made available legally during 1992. During 2001 an uncut German DVD version was released, but the Berlin-Tiergarten Court ordered seizure of the DVD in April 2002 (Case Number 351 Gs 1749/02). In [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finland"]Finland[/ame], The Evil Dead was later released uncut on DVD by Future Film, and rated K-18. In the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom"]United Kingdom[/ame], the movie was one of the first to be labeled a [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_nasty"]video nasty[/ame] during the mid-1980s and was finally released uncut in 2001.

Re: How many of the banned horror movies have you seen?

Oh yeah, the tree rape scene was kinda funny. It wasn`t banned in canada though I think.
Thanx luna.
+1

Also the skeletal structure of a rabbit looks very similiar to a fetus.
Once I was in Chef school 12years ago I used frog legs standing straight up and blue gelatin on a mirrored plate as a show piece for a function. It was suppose to be like sycronized swimmers with their legs in the air overthe gelatin water. I failed that section because you are not `suppose` to make edible, human like pieces. Zero points for creativity.
