Thanks, but I got lucky, Zolak was a fumble machine that game. I had 2 or 3 TDs on fumble recoveries! I played the NES Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Superbowl back in the day but no where near as much as the Gen. version. My first attempt at a score on the O.G. version of Tecmo was only 28. I don't even know the best teams to play with on the NES ones. I play with Buffalo on the Gen version because of their defense, not because I'm a fan. I play as Cornelius Bennett, but Bruce Smith and Jeff Hansen get almost as many sacs as I do, then there's Martin and someone else that get sacs as well. I always try to push back for a safety.
About 12 years ago I was traveling the country for work for 8 months and I had 10-12 hours of down time a day. I took my Game boy Advance and my Genesis (I don't even remember why I had my Genesis) I became obsessed with this game. I played as every team then played as every team with all the back ups, all the while keeping track of records (for each season) in a spiral notebook of TDs for WR, TE, RB, yards for a WR, TE, RB, etc, and also team records, defense records, etc. All this made each new season full of drama on multiple levels. I wish we had the capability for all those records here.
Good Job on the reclaiming of Tecmo Super Bowl (Genesis) high score! I get the sense you were waiting for someone beat your old score to pounce. 113 is close to the highest score I've ever had so I don't see me reclaiming anytime soon,
