When did you start playing DK with intent to kill screen? About how long from point A to monster score level? Massive one guy run too. Your commitment really shows.

No Game of DK is ever Lucky - you still have to play the boards it can all change in a heart beat. Shame about the rivets, especially the one where you ducked under the ladder and got caught. Funnily enough the spike in your gameplay IMO has come since you changed your rivet strategy.

Bravo on the DK score, man! Monstrous!
And too bad about the back-to-back deaths - that's Donkey Kong for you

Different route = different river layout/map, order, difficulty and number/type of enemies all around. The river fork you pick determines what river combos comes next/later. If you go all left from Class 1/Colorado you get the Amazon river next. If you stay to the right at forks you end up with the American river. The last river of each Class will always be at its highest difficulty/hardest enemies.

I am working on mapping the whole game out, and seeing what "route" allows for more points or not. But, no matter what the route: its still all about collecting the Toobin' letters early and hitting that score x5 bonus at the end of each Class (1.4 million point bonus possible with all letters per river). I would have added 350,000 points to the game I posted here if I had gotten x5 instead of x4 on one river finish!

Howdy + Thanks for the welcome to this excellent site and for the Toobin' props. I'm getting back in "shape" after not playing for a month+ (after setting the coin-op WR over at High Scores Arcade Alameda). Retro Uprising seemed like a good spot to do some more "training" (+ how did I not notice for months that I could play "online" here...doh!).

I am working on a 10,000,000+ game finish attempt taking the much different "all right route" as we speak (this game I went left at all river forks). I hope to share the results with the classic gaming community in the not too distant future.

    Happy Gaming!
