Dudebro: Vito Tremblay, a construction worker with a fondness for ducklings. The legacy of his former beard haunts his reputation.
ChrisP: Christos; a Greek and spoiled college student from a wealthy family who moved to Italy with Gustavo Moriarty, his butler/translator to study art and literature. stevencassidy13: Eddie Spago. A drunk old fool, always burping and hiccuping as he talks. Been that way for 40 years. If hes not making gross noises, he's dead. A farmer all his life, he was always a kind soul, helping out wherever he can, and giving fresh vegetables to who ever need them. Yes, he is a good man, the type of man you'd want to go to war with. He is a friend first, he is a drunk second.
Barra: Lorenzo Lombardi. A retired finance advisor, now bar owner. He spends his life watching others drink their's away.
Kong: Chef Boy R. Dee. He's not the best chef but in a pinch he can turn anything into a hot tomato based meal.
Cam3ron36: Si Qua. Lived on the Native reserves most of his life, but moved up here to work on the Railroad.
Brawl
Tenser: Vinny "The Thumb" Morici, a 44 year-old high school dropout. His aspirations consist of living off of other's hard work, engaging in petty criminal offenses, and making a mean pasta sauce. He is the current owner and operator of a shoddy, run-down, third-rate "mom and pop" pizza joint. He claims Italian heritage and pride even though he's 8th generation Canadian and knows nothing of Mediterranean culture besides what he's seen from Hollywood movies.

The setting is a small mid-city residential building in an area in 1960's Toronto with a large Italian demographic. It's a pretty shady apartment complex, but the living is cheap. Honestly, it's not a great compensation; the fire escape is broken and the stair case is like, welded shut or something, it's weird. This time of year, the whole place starts to freeze up some, too.

You live on the fifth floor, where everyone seems kinda nice and simple on the outside, but you get the feeling that that the odds are good that, deep down inside, most of your neighbors maybe aren't the best kind of people. Rumors are pretty thick that some of them, looking to either get some quick money or help their businesses, got themselves involved with the Canadian Mafia.

People have been mentioning something about "unholy weather" coming from the West, but whatever. It's all talk, and maybe people do too much of that around here.



We'll start the first round in 14 or so hours. I'll pm everyone their roles and bump the thread with an update when that time comes. If you want to write out a littler persona, this is probably a good chance to.

"Unholy weather" weren't words to be ignored, as it turns out. An absolutely unworldy blizzard has left the streets buried in 25 feet of snow. It would seem that the electricity blackout, going on three days now, is affecting the entire town. Really though, without the elevator you haven't even seen the world beyond your floor, not that the natural disaster outside is inviting enough for you to satisfy any curiosity.

It's a pretty disgusting and uncomfortable situation, but you find yourself sharing resources and opening up a little more to your neighbors; perhaps seeing them as more human than fake and possibly dangerous. Really though, how much longer can some 15 or 16 people last when this inhibiting atmosphere doesn't seem to relent?

Alright, I'm sending the roles out and extending the time before we start by one more day. Joz's post made me realize that There should be some time between the role confirmation and the game start.

Five more days have passed. Still without power, refrigerated foods have begun to spoil (at least it's chilly indoors) and room temperature goods are showing more signs that they're receding than the storm certainly is. You and your neighbors have decided to stop making jokes about cannibalism.

"Fat" Paul, a portly shut-in who's been the subject of slander these past few days, was found dead in his apartment. I'll spare you the details, but trust me, it looks like a murder. Though you and everybody else would have bet the world that he'd have a stash of food tucked away, he didn't have a thing. Maybe he ate it all, maybe someone looted the place. I didn't really know too much about the guy myself, but apparently he used to be a boxer back his day. To have taken him so quietly probably took the work of more than one of you losers. This could only be the handy work of...

Everyone decides that the most rational way to go about this is to democratically execute whoever is suspected of being a mafian.

For the longest time, the suspect of the prime majority is nobody in particular, but slowly everyone comes to the half-heartedly believed consensus that "Christos" needs to go.

They say in the times of ancient Greece, when they began to stack floor after floor on one another, the lazy impoverished residents would often chuck the waste and trash they had accumulated into their pots out the window; sometimes being a hazard to pedestrians below. Only Jack Frost could have been bothered by the ejected projectile that was Christos. Some speculate that when they tossed out Gustavo, Christos's body broke his fall. Four years later, he would create a list of the survivors and hunt after them one by one, until he had his revenge.

But for now, hopefully no one else will die. Hopefully.

Some had the story different, particularly those who had first heard it, but last night the residency was talking about Lorenzo's financial connections to a certain, lazy, pizza joint proprietor.

Despite claims of innocence and simplicity, it seemed like Vincetti was the center of suspicion just yesterday. Were he here, alive and well, today, no doubt disputes would resume over people voting to execute him. Alas, he is only here limp and smelly. The rotation cycle for tossing these guys out is getting pretty lousy; these deaths have really got to come to finality.

Some people have been mentioning that the storm looks to be subsiding; just a teeny bit, but other people dismiss it. It's an idealist notion. Right now, death the white snowscape of fatal loneliness almost seems better than spending more time in this place.

Maybe the mafians will stop after they have enough? Maybe, once the food doesn't have to be rationed out between so many people, they'll just let you live on. But really, who knows. The murderous type is perhaps not the reasonable type.

Bringing the survivors to an even smaller number, Boy R. Dee was found dead. He was something of a wildcard in his life, and you take some solace in the fact that he more than likely had an exciting death.

Oddly remarking on the subject of eyeballing people, Vito seems pretty nonchalant as those around him remove his barricades and collect him to be thrown out. Given his figure and profession, he probably could have made it a considerably harder task, but perhaps he didn't trust himself enough to fight for himself. Who knows.

More pressing on your mind is the fact that you can count the number of survivors left on this floor with your fingers. If you wake up to another death tomorrow, then a bitter resolution could quickly follow; assuming you wake up tomorrow at all.

The heinous weather is most definitely receding and it looks as if power is slowly being restored to distant buildings. The sun is finally shining.

Since that's what we're at, I gave the "draw" scenario more thought. It would actually just mean that the next voting phase would have three people, and that could actually still provide a victory chance for the innocents.

Yeah, not enough commitment to this. Hard to get a read on anyone when people aren't commenting, or are just voting. Like I said, past renditions have had like 18 pages by now. Not sure what's up. I know personally I stray away from posting too much, because I don't know how to not make myself look suspicious. Let's uh... Let's just say it was all over and nobody figured it out. All of the violence in the city during the blizzard caused serious jams into the court system and this situation was just another drop in the bucket. Legally everyone seems to have gotten off the hook for electing the deaths of so many others.

Gustavo would have his revenge eventually though.

Almost everyone had a special role, but the idea was to have so many that they could jeopardize themselves rather than compromising mafians.

I'd also like to add that this was kind of a trial run that introduced a lot of people to the game. In the future we should avoid trying to kill off players who are active with the thread immediately. (I.E. everyone wanted to kill Tenser right away when he was probably the best thing we had going for the game)

I'll take the fault of it as I picked the mafians at random instead of giving it to seasoned players.

Welp, in hindsight, that vote change did kill me, but I was hoping to strategically say that I'm not changing my vote even if it means death so everyone else might take down Barra next.

Really, really hard to get a read off anyone when people are barely posting like I said. My Barra guess was just a far fetched educated one really. My suspicions were up on either Kong or DB as well at the time I think. I believe I reasoned them innocent eventually and picked Barra.
