In other completely out of touch state anti technology propaganda, the FBI just released a flyer promoting "suspicious activity".
The use of PGP, VPNs, Tor or any of the many other technologies for anonymity and privacy online are directly targeted by the flyer, which is distributed to businesses in an effort to promote the reporting of these activities.
For the layman, these are completely legit technologies. I'll give you an example, if I'm doing work (I'm a system admin/programmer for a website) at a starbucks, if I don't encrypt my traffic, ANYONE CAN SEE MY PASSWORDS TO OUR SERVERS. Why don't I just put my email address and password on the back of my laptop screen while I'm at it ? This is just stupid ...
