Wanting to move on..

I'm getting tired of my current job, I hate the hours, the job itself (customer service cleaning the entire store) and just about everything about it. I want to move on but have no idea what to do. I came home sick tonight (have to go in tomorrow if I don't I'll have to get a Doctor's note) and still don't feel that great.

I've just been thinking of things to do and nothing comes to me, I'd like to work in a call center or something, but the main issue is driving, I do not have a license which I am working on atm. So right now I wanna look at working from home or something for the time being. Do you guys have suggestions on how to accomplish this? I was suggested by my Mom to restart the Snack shop she did, but I wanna see what other things have.

I'm just at the point now that I need to find my place in life and really for me it's like a deer staring into head lights. Thanks.

Well for myself, I just decided what it was that I enjoyed doing, and made it my work. That way there is no work, only play. I couldnt do a crappy job so I had no choice really.

I have no idea how to bring anime in the picture, not a good drawer, and it seems my story attempt failed. Video games, I know I am good at finding bugs in stuff, haven't looked into that area as of yet. I am great at Customer Service, so might look into that (if I can figure out requirements).. damn no jobs available atm. Would be nice to work for them or something.

The Snack shop did bring in a lot of money (and less assholes like I get at my work) and might be my option 2. It'd take commitment to set it up on my own though (willing to do it, I actually enjoy wheeling and dealing, it's due to playing Orbit/CollecToons since 2002), get a sense on what people would like and go from there. Nothing big though.

Not necessarily the actual preparing of tax returns, just the many hours away from my family. Most of my daughters' dance competitions and recitals happen in the winter months, and I probably miss about 80% of them because I am at the office. I would be at the office from sun up to sundown, enough time when I come home to wolf down some dinner, tuck them into bed, then crash. Rinse and repeat, six days a week until April 15th (this year because of holidays and the like, it will be the 17th). I know there are some people who work longer hours than this and hey, more power to ya, it just does not work for me at this time in my life.

You'll miss out on many great experiences. I'm a cautious person also, but there are somethings that I would have missed out on if I did not take a "leap of faith" of sorts. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, they are learning experiences. I have learned that from my 4 year old, she has no fear, it's fun to watch, sometimes inspirational.

Besides it being dangerous (my luck like I said when it happens in it's 20 year history I was the cashier to be robbed :p) due to area bordering it. All that does is make me put stuff off in the end, either it's something small on here (game requests) or something somewhere else. Not healthy, I don't recommend it.

Right after I graduated college, I was about your age and I was very unsure as to which direction I wanted to take in life.
I came within inches of joining the Peace Corps and even though my life has turned out pretty good, I wish every day that I'd taken that leap of faith and joined.

Understanding that you are generally opposed to trying new things, this might be completely out of the question, but if you want some adventure in your life, travel to places you've never been, help those less fortunate than you and make a little cash and earn some great resume building skills, it might be a good 2 year investment for your life.

I tried Football in high school and hated playing it (I was always asked to join since I was 6"3' and basically a tower). I'd have to say I would compare it to football practice.

Actually, Tails you'd be surprised how many people don't really know what they want to do with their lives. I've known people who graduated from college with a degrees in a specific field, then once they got out decided that they really didn't want to do that thing afterall, and end up working somewhere like Wal-Mart or McD's (not that there's anything wrong with those places) while they try to think of something else to do.

The good thing is that you are still young enough to be able to realistically make a decision like this, and just the fact that you are asking for advise about it and seriously trying to find a real career path shows a level of maturity on your part.

The process is called trial and error. Yeah, there is a good chance you won't like it, we have already discovered that you don't like customer service/retail/clerk/cashier. If it blows, you can get out when you commitment is done. The typical commitment to the Peace Corp is a little over 2 years (training and deployment). Plus something like that probably looks tight on a resume when you get back. Besides, what is the worst that could happen?

Also I can tell you from direct personal observation of Vancouver's coffee culture that atmosphere is as important as product and service, but the atmosphere can draw customers back and even endear them to your place.

Such is the case with a tiny coffee house around the corner from me, very cozy, friendly, colorful {they have an interesting 'Zodiac' mural on the ceiling} and just nice to sit and relax in.

It's actually from our house. My Mom got a vendor's license back in 2009? (that or 2010) it made good profit due to her "bring a friend get a free item" promotion and being right in front of a basketball court worked great too. I am GREAT at suggestive sell so I could prolly push anything, at first get stuff I like so if they don't like it no loss in it.

Out of all the ideas you were given you decided to sell candy?Not at all. Goal is to quit Walgreens, do this and go to College. The Atlus thing, something to do with the weather, or something with fixing computers (like how Kong does it) are all in my mind to what to do. Basically first step into something better, I'd be too drained going to college and studying after work atm.
