Is it fair to say Hollywood caved? Sony isn't a US company and I don't think the major theaters are considered part of HW. The only HW one I can think of is that company(Fox?) that dropped the Steve Carell movie about NK.

We are beyond caving. They should relocate their headquarters to North Korea and apologize to Kim directly.

Sony itself isn't a US company, but Sony Pictures might as well be. How much control Sony has over them I don't know.
Yeah I gotta say I'm just stunned by the reaction to these threats. I hope we find out later that there was some real threat and they're just lying about it now so they don't tip off the attackers or something. Sony I'm not bothered by because they're not a murrican company. Paramount is gonna get raked over the coals for this. One theme that seems to cross political lines is that we don't give in to terrorist demands. To put more of a point on it we just had a very public rescue attempt fail the other day and we stood by the decision because the alternative is caving to terrorists. You either have trust in the source, or you don't, not to say that not trusting the source is a default false flag of course. I think in this case we have a marketing strategy, I don't know for certain, but I'm just taking a guess for fun.
Regardless, it looks terrible, I just watched the trailer and it did not evoke one drop of emotion from me.

This is such a bizarre post I'm not sure how to reply.
I think they'd play up the patriotic angle to avoid siding with caving to terrorism. But it's not like they don't contradict themselves all the time anyways so who knows.
Nope, but one thing that tends to be consistent with the good ol USA, is that if there is even an inkling that something can be blamed on "terrorists", it will be.
