A horizontally scrolling fighting game for 1 to 4 players. Each playable character (chosen from Mark, Glen, Akira and Gil) kicks and punches their way through a number of enemy-packed levels. In addition to kicking and punching, each character also has their own unique 'special attack'; a move that injures multiple on-screen enemies at the cost of some of the player's health.
While in no way original (drawing most of its inspiration from Capcom's "Final Fight"), Karate Blazers is both hugely playable and very fast and frenetic, with the amount of on-screen enemies at times overwhelming. The graphics are also well drawn and nicely animated.

Based on the 1986 John G. Avildsen film, "The Karate Kid 2". The Karate Kid is a beat'em up game where you, as Daniel Larusso, must go through some stages (including bonus ones) from the karate competition to the final battle in Okinawa against Chozen. There are different kinds of stages, from the fighting style game (similar to Street Fighter) to the platform type like Kung Fu for NES, it also has some bonus in which your ability is tested.

Kendo Rage puts players in the role of Jo, a young girl equipped with a powerful sword and a special dash attack. The sword can frequently be upgraded to act as a shield, shoot a stream of fire, or unleash stinging butterfly attacks. As Jo makes her way across the countryside, creatures, swordsmen, and others attack, and Jo must hack and slash her way past them. The bosses are challenging, sometimes to the point of frustration, but the standard enemies are easily defeated. Colorful anime-style visuals and a varied musical score can't save the game from mediocrity; the controls are spotty and the action pales in comparison to such games as Ninja Gaiden and Shinobi.

In many ways reminiscent to Golden Axe or Magic Sword, The King of Dragons allows for multiple character classes and a similar style of 2D side scrolling action. The story revolves around a city and its trouble withstanding attacks from a red dragon named Gildiss. You are to develop an assault of one or two characters to find this dragon and rid your home of danger once and for all. There are five character classes to choose from and all based upon classic fantasy games. Between the Fighter, Wizard, Cleric, Elf, and Dwarf there are plenty of interesting powerup combinations and spells to keep things interesting on multiple plays. In addition, a unique gaming concept is the use of magic crystals throughout the game which must be struck by a friendly weapon in order to release their powers upon the onscreen enemies.

The sequel to King of the Monsters, King of the Monsters 2 features more monsters, more levels and a new type of character, the minor fighter aliens, who pester you as you do battle. As in the first game, you control a monster who fights other monsters one at a time using methods from various wrestling and fighting games.
The colorful variety of monsters includes: Huge Frogger, a reptilian alien; Eifflelyte, a fierce mutant warrior; Claw Head, a crabby fusion of an assortment of creatures; Beetle Master, a super insectoid; Aqua Slug, a slimy sea creature; and Lavicus, a levitating alien maker. You get to choose from three fighters: Super Geon, a Godzilla look-alike; Atomic Guy, an armor-plated scientist; and Cyber Woo, a super robot built for war.
While fighting monsters, you'll also have to ward off heavily armed humans who are trying to regain control of the Earth. They come at you in submarines, tanks and fighter planes. You'll do battle in such exotic locations as the Grand Canyon, Tokyo, the desert and France. A two-player mode allows you and a friend to each pick a monster and go at it head-to-head, or the two of you can team up against the computer.

Koryuu no Mimi is a Beat-'Em-Up game, published by Vap, which was released in Japan in 1995.
Natsume Kiroemon, the 45th leader of the Natsume family, is due to inherit the Kōryū no Mimi, a tool which gives its bearer easy access to wealth and women. As a result of his father's death, he left the Italian monastery where he'd been training and rightfully took the name "Natsume Kiroemon" as well as the power of the Kōryū no Mimi. Upon his return to Japan, Natsume fell fatally in love with Kanako, one of the user of the rival Mina family. However, the evil hand of the Mina family attacked Natsume constantly and abducted Kanako. Now Natsume has unlocked the seal, making the Kōryū's power surge, and he's striking back at the Mina family. Both Koryu and Kanako's fate are in the player's hands.
Instead of limiting all the player's attack with a weapon, he has the option of attacking normally then firing with a separate button. Much like The Ninja Warriors or Kung Fu, each stage takes place on a single movement level. While the player is not allowed to fight the same amount of enemies all at once, he is often kept pretty busy. To make things harder, the player only get a single life before being sent to the continue/game over screen. There is part-time from a computer controlled partner in the airplane (third level) but there is no way to get a full-time partner for the rest of the stages.
Players will also find gaming similarities to Final Fight and River City Ransom throughout the game.
