Why not? When the glitches in the tournament system get fixed, maybe we can create one. What Golf game would you like to play most in a tournament?

I recall last year talking about having a weekly tournament kind of a league format. Then you can use a bunch of different ones. I understand that this can take quite a bit of effort to put together. Should probably throw the idea out there again and see if people are still interested.

Sabby had initally devised the idea and it was an overall success. I'd definitely participate if someone wants to take the reins and start this up again.

The way is was before, you'd play 4 rounds of the same course (NES Golf, for example). Obviously, lowest score wins. The wrinkle was, however, that we factored in handicaps to encourage more non-golfers to join. The handicaps were the only complicated part of the whole thing.

That sounds interesting Tanc. I think having a few full braketed Golf tournaments might be fun too. There are probably enough of us on here that like Golf to get a tournament going.

I'd be curious about participating in a golf tourney depending on the game. IMO, some of those old golf games have awful play control, and are almost unplayable to me...

It's true some of them are no so great, but if there are enough players interested we could discuss which one we want to play then create a tournament for that if we go the tournament route.

There are enough golf titles out there where the playability is, at worst, acceptable.

I suggest we revive the old thread and see who's interested. We would decide which course to use on a tourney by tourney basis.

I became so addicted to that game I shot a -23 once. I'd probably shoot nothing lower than a +23 now.

Anyways, the major problem with the golf tournament is that it greatly favored those who had a lot of time. If you had enough time/patience to play a few practice rounds you'd wipe the floor with those who didn't.

I love old games, but sports ones are definitely at the bottom of the list.
