Sonic Megamix is a hack of the old Sonic the Hedgehog, which while the Genesis version is on RU, an updated version is available for the Sega CD.
Gameplay -- The gameplay to Sonic Megamix was a HUGE improvement to the old Sonic games, as you can now play as 5 characters, who each control differently. Sonic plays like his Sonic CD counterpart. (I'm going to review CD one day.), Mighty can collect multiple shields, Shadow homing attacks, Tails can fly, and Knuckles glides. Each of these characters control VERY smoothly. The gameplay, overall, is outstanding.
Story -- The story is... Eggman wants to take over the world.
That's it.
Music -- The music isn't that impressive, it's mainly remakes or remixes of Sonic music. While the tracks seem great, some original tracks would've been nice, and overall, the music leaves a lot to be desired.
Graphics -- The background and stages get new art, and they all look amazing, like the first level, which looks beautiful, and Dark Fortress, which brings certain fear into your heart. The characters, mainly Shadow, look amazing as always. I say Shadow in particular because his sprites are new, and stand out more from the other characters. The graphics overall are pretty well made.
My score -- Megamix seems to be trying to mix the old with the new, and it works out pretty well. Sonic Megamix gets an 8/10.
