Pac-Man (Arcade)

After many revisions, I'm finally staying this way. I'll try to be more descriptive than I was before.
REVIEWS:
I am basing my score of my reviews by:

Graphics, Gameplay, Controls, Sound, and Replay Value.

Graphics: 3.5/5 (5/5 nostalgic factor)
Though relativity simple-looking, but even back then and today, the graphics of the game are very nostalgic, and are still be stuck in many people's heads for the rest of their lives.

Gameplay: 5/5 (5/5 nostalgic factor)
It popularized the maze genre, as it still being addicted by many gamers who play it to this day. Though repetitive, it's still one of the well-known gameplays out there.

Controls: 5/5
It's basically up, down, left, and right. Niche controls at it's best...there's really nothing to say about it.

Sound: 3.5/5 (5/5 nostalgic factor)
No music (so what?), but all of the sound effects are memorable and fun to listen to, especially when you lose a life...it's stuck in everyone who played this.

Replay Value: 5/5
It's one of those games who play it a lot of times, it doesn't get boring or stupid. The replay value is probably the best replay value for the early 1980s.

Overall: 5/5 = 100%
Despite simple graphics and music (though memorable and fun), it's still a fun game to play, everywhere. No version or expansion of this game can eclipse this game at all.

Re: Pac-Man (Arcade)

very cool review of the best video game of all time. (the golden age of video games)
this game is so cool to learn how to play it.
the game really gets fun at the first apple. the game speeds up and the monsters really look determined to catch pack man.
learn a few patterns then apply them and see the game at its best.
80's arcade action at its best.
turn up retro mtv music and this game loud and feel a time warp.

Re: Pac-Man (Arcade)

It wasn't bad for the day. It could have used some BGM and more randomness/less pattern memorization in my opinion.

Re: Pac-Man (Arcade)

I remember the very first time I saw Pac Man, and how difficult it was to try to convince my friends the game I saw went by the title of
GLUTTON
but that word is hardly ever used in the NAU, which made it even more difficult to explain since no one understood what it means.

PACMAN goes with patterns, if not you have ms pacman. That was a real challenge, to learn patterns and apply them. and it was a quarter a try. so it did cost to play, but the reward was worth it because you knew that you can play the game that was a very big deal in the 80's. I mean it was massive, from clothes, watches a cartoon, cereal songs played on the radio, to play this game well it was very cool. arcades will never be the same. there was video screens showing latest music videos, strobe lights etc lol it was like a night club. i know it sounds silly now, but you were cool if you knew how to play pacman and get to a key. PACMAN LIVES ON RU. GREAT SITE GUYS.
