The Honest Retro Uprising Gamer - #3 - Transformers: Convoy No Nazo

Note: Some people expected Metroid to be here. Well, isn't Transformers in space? Furthermore, don't they use the word energy most of the time in their movies? Well, anyways, here's my review.

The transformers movies were the best and always expected high expectations that the movie will indeed become a classic. There was games feeding off its success, but the one I'll be focusing on is the one for the Famicom. The Transformers: Convoy No Nazo.

This game was only released to Japan and not outside of it. Why? Was the game too difficult for the western audience? Was it hard to translate the game itself? Well, a company with a weird name called: "No Talent Transitions" made an english version of the game and released to Famicom's in the U.S. Now, why did Japan stop sales of this game from going to the U.S? Well, first of all. It's answering all the questions above. It's too difficult.

Transformers: Convoy No Nazo was a challenging game at the start. What makes it that is the problems that occur in the game. For one reason, this tiny pellet from enemy fire touched my character and I died. How strong could this tiny pellet be? Another thing is, enemies come out if you keep scrolling the screen. Don't you just love that? How you keep waling right, unable to see the enemies above when suddenly, an enemy comes out of no where and destroys you. I just love that, don't you? (Sarcasm) Another thing that's a problem is that, your character has a sliding effect. What's a sliding effect? Well, have you seen in games you move your character and when you stop, your character slides a little bit? Well, that's a sliding effect. In this game, the sliding effect is a big problem because sometimes this causes to your demise. Imagine if you stop walking towards the spikes and you just let go of the walking button, the sliding effect occurs and you still touch the spikes. How annoying.

Other than the faulty problems in this game. This game is very entertaining. It's a nice, challenging game where you get to use your energy blaster that's on your character and you get to fight enemy obstacles. Other than that. It's an okay game but since it's transformers, it should deserve better.

Overall Rating: C+

Small pellets of immense strength:

Notice how little of the cartridge is actually what is fired. Now this tiny little thing can easily be fatal.

Consider the size of the character you play as, the pellet is probably proportionally larger to the character than a bullet is to a person.

The only thing you have to remember is: the house always wins.
This is true of both gambling and gaming alike.
