Post 2000 PC Survival Simulator

I was a young boy when I played this game, probably between the years of 2000 and 2003. I remember that it was on the PC and looked pretty furnished, and definitely ran on XP.

The game was an African survival simulator. You would hire help from local fisher man to try to catch supplies in a grass covered marsh type area. My only memories of the game are on a small little boat, but I remember that when you died, (I assume it's when you died, because it always marked the end of the game, which was not by my own choice) you would be shown the interior of a temple, slowly zooming in on the golden image of a lion. The game played out through point and click interaction game, but I don't remember it being orientated on adventure.

I know it's not too much to go on, but I was only curious, as I have a faint memory of the game.

Re: Post 2000 PC Survival Simulator

That sounds like an Amazon Trail game.

Basically you travelled down a river. You had to keep yourself alive by catching fish, collecting fruit. Some food was poisonous. You kept a log of things you saw. Sometimes you would find villages, including a camp where the occupiers made you their slave if you talked to them.

A feature was a talking lion/tiger/jaguar head that kept track of some kind of progress for you. I can't remember much more than that because it was one of those 'free' games from some purchase or something and it sucked so I never finished it.

Re: Post 2000 PC Survival Simulator

Seems familiar, but the quality is worse than I remember. Still, the talking lion part seems to hold up, and it apparently came with a box of cereal(a way I remember getting some crappy pc games), so I'm willing to believe it.

Thanks Seahawk.
Theahawk.
