So after a long relentless day at work, I was walking home and found an Xbox 1 in the garbage ! I brought it home and plugged it in. Big ol red ring with some maintenance warning. The harddrive is clicking (good night sweet prince) and the cdrom is busted.

"My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer and I have my mind... and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge. That’s why I read so much, Jon Snow."
I've only had a few things break one me. Had like 2 Xbox 360 red rings, 1 gamecube disk reader broken, 1 wii disk reader broken, and I think that's it.

I actually bought my xbox 360 (elite)in Artyomovsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai Russia for 890 or so rubles ('round 30 bucks). The person selling me it was an older gentlement who had no clue what it was, and figured it was some cheap toy. I kind of felt bad...but then I got over it.
@fungusman; Xbox 1 in the garbage? That seems like a big waste to me; you could have looked for PC parts in the garbage and you only would have spent half the time.
About the tossing the console in the garbage thing. We used some of our old games for target practice once. I kinda regret it now but the games weren't even that good and I have RU. Drakken deserves a bullet.
No offense, but why is everyone so sarcastic about the first poster?
He obviously just wanted to post an experience about having an adventure and finding something quirky, you guys don't need to troll him for it.
Try to be, dare I say it, a little more open minded to the more casual community?
My best find was finding some Magic: The Gathering cards at a yard sale for 10 Dollars, only to find out there were Moxes and a Beta Berserk, so I turned 10 bucks into about 800+.
@Ted- I don't know what you're even talking about. Chris was unsure about the point of the topic but other than that this all looks pretty normal to me.
