Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2

Umm all 4 have been on PS..

Not Gundam. That was released for Xbox 360 and PS3 only. PS2 is getting the second Dynasty Warriors Gundam. What kind of insanity is that? Don't give something a sequel to a game it didn't get the first time.

Why would they bother putting it on the PS2?

Disgaea 1/2 were on PS2 DB, not 3/4.

I've only played the PSP versions of the first two Disgaea games. They are good, and I don't see where this one could go wrong.

Also: I don't think Prinny 2 is going to be released in America.

Well, it hasn't been announced for release in America, so I don't think it will happen.

I've played it though, it is much better, it feels more finished.
First: there are now three difficulties, Hell's Finest {same as last time} Normal {only two hits, instead of three} and Baby {three hits, can find more lying around, the new breakable blocks are removed} The combo roulette which you could use to gain life has been altered, with no way to get life outside of Baby difficulty anymore. The combo roulette now grants you super-mode when you fill it, and you can activate special moves in super-mode. There are a couple of new playable characters, one of them is Prinny Asagi, and she uses various weapons to fight as opposed to the knives. I think the other is Prinny Laharl, not sure on it though. You have to unlock those characters by beating it as the regular Prinny. There are blocks that break when they take a certain amount of damage, so killing things from mid-air can kill you because you might try and land on a block you destroyed. More of the enemies are actually from Disgaea games, as opposed to various food items. Flonne is a secret boss {90% sure} and she is always around in the hub-world. Certain bosses are rendered in full 3D to make them more menacing. It basically feels like they finished ideas they didn't quite refine in the first game. And yes, the jump mechanics are still like Castlevania with the ability to double jump.

The dimensional gate is replaced with a giant cannon that shoots Prinny into the stage.

That would bite. Some of these games would do well here if Japan didn't insist on keeping some for itself.

I know, they might do okay, but I doubt games like Prinny 2 would do great here in America, seeing as our sales on PSP games almost always suck. That and the first one didn't do all too great here anyway.

That's true. The first Prinny game didn't do so hot, so it is likely the other would do worse. I think a lot of people would stay away from those games.

The first Prinny game should have done better, seeing as the amount of crappy, overly easy platforming games we buy, we need some more games with that high difficulty level. One major complaint I've heard about it is the lack of ability to change the direction of a jump in mid-air.

Is that 3 bucks for a character? Either way what a rip off all that is.

Picked up Disgaea DS a few days ago, really enjoying it so far. I like the freedom I have for developing my characters.

I've played it on an emulator. didn't much care for it sadly. I like Nippon Ichi games, but those tile based RPGs like that just aren't my thing really unless they do something interesting with it like Bahamuts Lagoon or SMT: Devil Survivor.

I generally am ho-hum, on the genre, but this one is different. They give you so much freedom to approach the battles any way you feel like it. Unlike most other tactics style games where you have everything you need at your disposal to finish any stage, Disgaea has no hand holding, you will get your ass kicked and you will need to get creative to persevere. Very satisfying.
