Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea

Note: Remember to use spoiler tags if need be.

First I just wanna say that I love these trailers. They filmed a few for Bioshock Infinite as well.

Anyways, Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea is going to be a sort of follow up to the the base game, and will come out as a two part DLC.

The setting is akin to the first two Bioshock titles, so it'll use new assets entirely.

Honestly, I think that they could have released this as a separate (albeit smaller) game instead of DLC.

If you're only somewhat familiar with the premise of Bioshock Infinite, then this might seem like a strange and chronologically impossible scenario for the main characters to be in.

I assure you there is indeed an explanation, but I suggest you think of it as a sort of "alternate universe" version of Bioshock Infinite for now.

Is there else here who has beaten Bioshock Infinite and/or the original titles?

What are your opinion on those titles, and what do you think of or expect from this upcoming game?

Is there anyone who hasn't played any of these games?

Are you at all curious about the series?

Does Burial at Sea strike you as having an attractive vibe, or style?

Re: Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea

I have played and beaten all 3 games. DLC looks cool so far. I want to see where they are going with the story. Are they just going with an alternate universe sort of thing or could it be like an afterlife story?

---------- Post added at 07:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:20 PM ----------

The first was fantastic. The second was really good too but not as good as the first. I thought the 3rd was outstanding. Might be my favorite of the three. The third is definitely different from the other two. The first two are psychological and horror while the 3rd is a different kind of terror, like bigger and spookier enemies and it runs more as an action game. The series' stories are really strong and consistently good from "Would you Kindly?" to "Bring the girl and wipe away the debt".

Sorry, too busy playing System Shock 2 to care about System Shock Infinite -- I mean Bioshock.

I haven't actually finished the game for myself, but I was adjacent when my little brother was at the ending. Didn't they show how all the towers leading to the societies basically retold the same events but with differences in each scenario?

System Shock 2 is a game worthy of its own thread. I literally just started playing it and I think there's plenty to be said about it, but this isn't the place to put it.

Re: Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea

Agreed. So I'll just throw my two cents in here:
The Bioshock games are by no means bad games, but when Irrational Games touted them as spiritual successors to the System Shock games, it ruined the experience, since I was looking so forward to a sequel. That being said, I had a blast playing the first one when I first got an Xbox, and still remains one of the most unique and pleasurable gaming experiences ever.

Well whatever the means, I'm digging the ends. The whole private eye detective theme seems pretty cool. With BI, you definitely buy into Booker's military background but the investigative bit felt kinda lacking. I bet this will be the opposite.

If it takes place in Rapture I would imagine so. I doubt resources will be as plenty down there.
