New Computer eventually... Questions

figured those of you here would be the best to ask.

My current Pc is now a good 6 or 7 years old at this point. Frankly, it's in good shape for it's age but all the maintenance and crap I have have to do to this computer on a daily basis to keep it running good is just annoying. To name the latest issue, I'm getting all these Virtual Memory warnings again which I've had before and don't remember how to fix that now. Despite that its in great running condition.

It's easier said though, my computer can be running great but I have to run all sorts of programs and scans after every time I play a game or anything and I have to use a program to stop almost every process in order to play a game without frame issues.

Bottom line, it is good for its age but I don't exactly expect it to make the decade mark if you know what I'm saying... Bogs down easily.

So I have considered saving up for my own computer in the next couple of years or so. Right now I'm poor with no job and nothing but high school work to worry about so I don't make much. I don't get shoveled money by my folks either like some richer people do, I have to do honest work to make some money. Again, bottom line this will be a future saving.

My idea and strategy is to buy a Top of the line computer for last year or by this years standards when they are cheap in a couple of years. I don't need a mega-2012 computer or whatever they may have then, I just want something that would be a great windows 7 computer for this time since I hate Vista.

So I was wondering if you were to think top of the line windows 7 2009 or 2010 computer what would you say? And what would you say it would cost in a couple of years?

Also, I know my Uncle & aunt have boughten solely the computer itself a few times before and kept the monitor they had for several years. If this possibly makes it cheaper I do not see why I can't keep my Computer monitor and just buy a new computer.

I would like suggestions to all of this if possible, but if you are too lazy to read then here is what Im looking for (A= I for sure want this feature and B = Feel free to suggest something better)

A - Top of the line Windows 7 by 2009 or 2010 standards.
A - Gaming machine for general games to run perfect, nothing fancy like big FPS games, don't worry.
B - The computer itself sold without the monitor in order to keep my old computer monitor.
B - Not a MAC or Vista please
B - Cheap enough by 2012/2013 I'm thinking hopefully 300-600 dollars

Any input appreciated.

Edit: This computer will be solely for gaming to clarify; We have a Laptop for school work if we need it so that will not be an issue. I'm also not a real big enthusiast for todays games so I don't run anything crazy. I have a bunch of Windows 95 games still all the way up to games like Worms 3d, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and minecraft which are generally the 3 that can have some FPS issues.

Re: New Computer eventually... Questions

324 bucks by today? That's pretty good.

My monitor is good. It's not flat screen or anything but frankly I feel safer about my computer if it's not flat screen. Very sturdy monitor I have, still bubble screen but I really don't care. I don't need HD visuals for emulators on and off site and older pc games

Edit: Essentially this monitor:
