And after you have ran housecall and can run programs again you should uninstall your current antivirus and install a new one. 1. The virus probably corrupted your current antivirus. 2. Your current AV did not catch this virus before it installed so it probably is not best suited for removing it either.

For a media viewer use VideoLAN - VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player or GOMlab.com - Play Any Video File, Any Time! The Best Media Player! If something requires a player besides one of those two then it is almost certainly a virus.
