Some years ago when I was having horrendous gut pains, I did some research and figured I might have gall-stones and was having gall-bladder attacks brought on by fatty food.
One night I thought I would test my theory but eating a bunch of donuts. Some hours later the doctors in the Emergency Ward at Gosford Hospital (where I ended up in terrible pain) tended to agree with me. And I have it in writing from the medical report that donuts is indeed spelt "donuts".
NB I have since had my gall-bladder out, cost to me for the operation: $0
