Throughout my child hood while I was too young to really get into these shows adult swim played anime as well as the cartoons, and so did Toonami, if anyone remembers it. This thread is to list any Anime series that you regard highly!
- Cowboy Bebop: Futuristic bounty hunters and their adventures. My number one favorite anime series because of the character development and plot development. Awesome ideas of companionship. Very well put together.
- Cyborg 009: You can't buy this one in America. Took me a long while to get all the English versions and piece it together through torrenting. The series was on adult swim when I was very young and was the only time it was shown in America. About a group of people turned into cyborgs. A lot of cool ideas shown in it about relationships between friends and about family. I love this one.
- Fullmetal Alchemist: A world where alchemy is used by few who are talented with it to mold the physical world. Very cool story.
- Samurai Champlo: Based in the Edo period of japan you follow three adventurers on the journeys. A cool story with awesome ideas of companion ship.
It's late over here so im going to edit this post later with more that I like later.

And for the record, Ranma 1/2 is timeless. Literally nothing in that show dates it. It is a really really good anime, and it's worth your time to watch the entire series.
So is Ninja Scroll considered lame anime? I never see it mentioned when these topics come up but for me it's the only cool anime I've ever seen, at least from what I can remember.

I had to Google that to see what it was but it looks neat. Thanks for the tip.
"My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer and I have my mind... and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge. That’s why I read so much, Jon Snow."
Cowboy Bebop, some call it overrated but I watched one episode and had to buy the set.
I also love the movie except the song they used for the final fight with Vincent {what were they thinking?}

Akagi, I know the art is really unusual {angular faces} but the story is good and you learn Mahjong while watching.
I also like some of the music{but the opening theme sucks!}

Star Blazers: origin of the Wave - Motion Gun, mounted on the Space Cruiser Yamato.
I used to get up at 6:30 just to watch this.
This is not a real movie it's a fan man trailer funded on Kickstarter in the hopes of Hollywood making Akira and not screwing it up. True to form Hollywood is thinking of casting Zac Efron in the lead role. You know that kid from High School Musical? Yeah him as Akira.

It was made before I was born and I've never heard or seen anything about it in my life. If it was a legend, I feel like I would've already heard of it before.

Yeah, I'm just playing too. I've probably just never heard of it because it has seemed to fall out for the younger generation. I asked my brother and three cousins. Only one that knew what it was my 22 year old cousin. Even him though, still didn't see it, he just knew of it.
