I can't check anymore but usually it's because it won't work properly in Score Mode. I'm sure a Mod will chime in to confirm.

If you find it works in a newer version of MAME then that could be the case but I can't say for sure.

Hey Ballas, I just checked and believe it or not, Score Mode for this game make the game completely upside down So unfortunately it is unplayable.
