I expect they'll go with those newer Tetris games where the blocks are alive somehow. I had one for PS1 or 2 that had a story and stuff, it was pretty dumb.

Except Super Mario Bros. was at least an action/adventure game to begin with. There was at least some sort of plot to use as the basis as for a movie. They failed miserably, but that's a whole other issue.
