Retronauts Live Episode 32: Remembering GamePro

This week's episode doesn't feature the happiest topic, but it is an important one. GamePro magazine officially shut its doors last Wednesday, ending nearly 23 years of enthusiast-driven games writing; and while most of us remember GamePro for its goofier qualities, it should be noted that the magazine's post-2009 redesign did a fine job of helping us forget a legacy of exploding heads and patronizing ProTips. Kat Bailey, Will Herring, and Ray Barnholt joined me for this discussion (along with 1UP utility infielder Matt Leone), and shared memories of their time both as readers and writers of their recently lost magazine. That said, all these folks are extremely talented and moderately unemployed, so if you're one of those billionaire job creators cable news networks claim to exist, give these great people a call, e-mail, or meaningful smoke signal. You'll be glad you did.

Also, apologies to listener Nick -- I completely neglected to mention he sent in a cart of Maniac Mansion along with his letter. Much appreciated!

As always, If you'd like us to read your letter on the show and/or feature your envelope art on our blog, write to:
