Leave Your Thoughts About the Resident Evil Movie for the Next Retronauts

For the third installment of Retronauts Movie Month, we'll be checking out Paul W.S. Anderson's 2002 take on silver screen survival horror, Resident Evil. Strangely enough, Capcom's famous herb-grinding, dog-defenestrating series has made for a pretty successful line of movies, with the fifth (really?) installment, Retribution, due this coming September. The original managed to be extremely successful, even if it did seem a bit late to the party; in case you don't remember, the turn of the century wasn't exactly Resident Evil's finest hour. Yet, in the midst of diminishing returns, people sure didn't mind forking over their hard-earned cash to watch a perpetually damp Milla Jovovich exact violence on the undead.

As with our past episodes of Movie Month, please leave your thoughts on Resident Evil in the comments section below. Did it meet your expectations for zombie mayhem? Were you disappointed by the glaring omission of emblems, keys, and Barry? Leave your comments on this blog post before Monday, February 27 at 12:00pm PST!

If you need some inspiration, here's the original trailer:
