^ Wow, you really loved old George as much as I did!
That last HBO Special he did was beyond brilliant.
Those were the kind of presentations of his I enjoyed - where he employed his life experience and observations to make a point about something.
Not that I didn't also enjoy it when he would talk about his cat and stuff like in the early days, that was pretty good too, but I'm rather politically enthusiastic and so I appreciate when people make good points about those things.
Like his bit on airport security and all the unnecessary words they add into the announcements to make them sound more important - brilliant!
But comparing George to other 'modern' Comedians is like comparing apples to oranges in my opinion.
Both are great but how can you compare them?
However, I do like Russell Peters' comedy when speaking of the 'new' performances.
1. Optifine - allows you to tweak display settings and certain game elements giving excellent game performance even on 32 - bit systems. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/...and-much-more/ 2.Custom NPC's mod - create your own NPC characters in Minecraft.
Fully customizable, meaning you decide everything: type, size, skins {compatible with most skins made for 'Human Male', like Steve, so you can use skins people upload to PMC and other sites}, assign jobs, factions, etc, etc.
All this and it adds numerous items such as weapons, armor, food, quest items, and more. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/...-npcs-splanmp/ 3.MACE city generator mod - a standalone program which generates worlds with cities. {NOT just random like it says, they're fully customizable with dozens of city options - why do they say random when itisn't?}.
There are 3 basic themes {desert, medieval, and Novv - sort of medieval with lots of detail} and you can insert 1 - 100 cities of your choosing into generated worlds.
Name the world or leave MACE to give it a random name, insert a world seed, tweak the options to make them contain only what you want them to, then create a profile so you can duplicate your favorite cities again later! http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/...ies-generator/ 4. Tale of Kingdoms mod - I consider this to be part mod, part city generator; the mod inserts a medieval style building {into either a new world or an existing save file}called the Guild.
The Guild is the starting point of the RPG aspect of the mod.
NPC's in the Guild inform you that you are the King who must complete certain tasks in order to gain the trust of your people.
Once you gain their trust {by gaining enough in - mod 'EXP', basically} you can then choose the site of your Kingdom, which you provide the raw materials to build.
There are 3 tiers to the Kingdom, expandable as soon as materials become available.
IN CONCLUSION:
These mods used together hold HUGE potential both on or offline and the best part is that you can do what I did:
Use MACE to create a world with a city {or cities}, then install the TOK mod, play to gain the Kingdom, and then uninstall TOK and use the Custom NPC's mod to make your own characters, storyline, whatever!
And in case you were wondering it is possible to have both mods running at the same time, but your custom characters better be tough enough to stand up to the TOK hostile mobs!
Why did you post seven times back to back and quote yourself? Quoting yourself is kinda weird but it's not really breaking the rules. Posting several times in succession like that is. I hate to be a hard ass about this but you have to stop doing that.
About favorite comedian I'd have to say it's Dave Chapelle. NSFW
Nah JG by the timestamps on his post it looks like those seven posts were over the course of about a half an hour. The double up he apologized for was a duplicate. Even without that it's still five consecutive posts.
Ah, I see now.
You're right.
Hey P13, are you shooting for a 'strawberry' icon or something?
- it's easier to get post count through natural conversation and way more fun, in my opinion.
Also I forgot the 'NSFW' tag on Russell Peters - DB please correct that for me.
I am of the direction that today's comedy was most widely influenced by the combined efforts of Carlin, Pryor, and Lenny Bruce. I believe on the Comedy Central list of greatest comics, it goes in the order of Pryor, Carlin, Bruce.

I've never been a fan of that arguement...we wouldn't have ps3 and the 360 without Pong...does that mean Pong is better than the current gen games? Not necessary. I'm not saying that Carlin is pong...he is more like SMB3 or Zelda:LTTP.
In addition to Carlin, comics that I have really enjoyed over the years have been Eddie Murphy (You are doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't listen to Raw and Delirious), Stephen Wright, Robert Schimmel, Dana Carvey, Louis CK, Mitch Hedberg, and Mitch Fatel.
George Carlin was the first comedian to ever go up-onstage and just SPEAK
Wrong. Mort Sahl was probably the first, at least the first famous comedian to make his entire career out of just talking instead of jokes with punch-lines. There were several other that also started before Carlin such as Lenny Bruce, Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby.
Enough, I just find that I can follow along fine at first, then he kinda escalates to a point where I can no longer relate. And he never makes me laugh, he's more of a motivational speaker imo.
I don't find him funny really. Not big on ventriloquists anyways but he doesn't seem to be that good at it. I totally see his mouth moving. That and his characters are all stereotypes, but that may be the point.
I like Jeff Dunham (probably because I'm 14 and laugh at nearly everything )
@DB- Yeah. They're sort of supposed to be stereotypical. His Hillbilly American puppet drinks beer and watches Nascar and is stupid. Achmed, self explanatory.
^ I know it may sound weird but, I like the Achmed puppet when he says:
'I kill you!' and eyeballs the audience.
Told you it was weird.
But now, here's a performer who is not only NSFW, but who is also extremely sexist and I wouldn't recommend anyone watch any of his performances if easily offended:
Big fan of Cosby's stuff. I also like Carlin, Williams (I agree with the energy aspect, probably the cocaine talking) and Steven Wright. Many of the others listed above I have enjoyed also.
One recent comedian I have really enjoyed is Gabriel Inglesias (The Fluffy Guy).
When it comes to stand-up comedians, I am not a huge fan of George Carlin, but I find him amusing from time to time. I like Ron White and Robin Williams, sometimes George Lopez.
For the most part, I'm not a big fan of stand-up comedy. No reason really, it just isn't my thing.
