Alright, we need to put up some good scores in the arcade so new comers don't assume we're a bunch of sissies here. So every week I'll be going in alphabetical order on the NES arcade.

This will be the rule for every one of these contests.

1) I'm allowed to participate, as their are some high scores that I will defend vigorously. So As Jaden Yugi would say, "Get your game on."

2) Each contest will end EXACTLY one week after I post it. Meaning if I post the contest at 10:53pm EST on a Monday, it'll end the next Monday at 10:52pm EST. So please pay attention to the post dates.

Points will be awarded as such:
10th - 100 points
9th - 200 points
8th - 300 points
7th - 400 points
6th - 500 points
5th - 600 points
4th - 700 points
3rd - 800 points
2nd - 900 points
1st - 1000 points

So you see it's worth posting all of your scores, not just your best one. Good luck. Who ever has the most total points at the end of the contest will get something extra.

You don't even have too put in a code it just doesn't reset you score after a game over. So i think we should skip this game and go to the next 1

Eventually your game overs will run out. They are limited. That brings up my question. Is it ok to post our score with the screen shot that has the "leader board" on it? We could put in something on the initials so you know which one it is. Like mine would be jek.

1) If memory serves me, there will be a little letter "c" in the top left corner if you activate the infinite lives code.

2) Leader board submissions are fine as long as the initials reflect you. Like I would use TEN and TrakMastaTom could use TOM or TMT, etc...

So Ten, Wanman, Jeckel...what's the trick to this game? Pointswise that is. Because it clearly isn't doing what you are supposed to do in the game (rescuing the family). Most games I play if you just do what you are supposed to do you get the most points. What am I missing?

I had a 600,000+ score with 2 lives left and it froze on me so I'm a bit sick of it right now. I'll keep at it tomorrow.

I go through and rescue the family like you're suppose to. The trick for me is two things. First thing is to get out of the freezer level with my continues still in tact. I like to get that part over and done with as soon as possible.

The second and most important thing to remember is there is a very slight graphical glitch in this game. (No fault of the server's, it's just how the game was made.) All the platforms extend 1-2 steps to the left. Gomez has a Mario complex on the left side where as long as his big toe is touching the platform he's alright. So when making long jumps towards the left you literally have to run off the platform before jumping.

Indeed. And, I just remembered a secret room. I know there are at least 2 secret rooms, I will have to see if I can find the second. But I found 1.

I really love this game. I grew up playing this game, and I still remember most of the tricks about it. I used to have contests with my friends to see who could beat it quicker. Needless to say I rocked at it, and I will beat it before this contest is over.

Congrats, wanman on beating the game:thumright:. Your score will be difficult to beat. The only way to beat your score is if you missed some money somewhere. In order to beat the game you need to have a million or more.

I beat it. I got less cash than wanman. I probably could have gotten closer than I did, but that damn roof iritates me way too much.

Also, when I submitted my score I accidentally put SMT instead of TMT as my initials.

My least favorite is the pool. His maneuverability is so damn clunky and you have to swim like hell to move upwards.

I did, but I wanted to go through the chimney a second time. I got really close a second time and got hit by the last tile, so I gave up.

Yes, it closed off last night at slightly after 10pm EST. I certainly wasn't going to miss the Super Bowl to close a contest.

First Place - wanman - 2,700 points and a second win!
Second Place - TrakMastaTom - 2,000 points
Third Place - Tenser - 500 points
Fourth Place - jeckel22 - 300 points
