A ranking of the most trusted game companies in Japan yields some findings which prove rather damning for Sony and Microsoft, who do not appear at all…
The ranking (http://www.sankakucomplex.com/goto/http://news.ameba.jp/cobs/2010/06/71549.html), based on the results of a survey of Japanese men in their twenties:
1. Nintendo (50.8%)
2. Square Enix (27.1%)
3. Capcom (22.5%)
4. Namco (18%)
5. Sega (18%)
Perhaps the real surprise (the omission of Sony and Microsoft somehow seems strangely unsurprising) here is just how well Square Enix did, despite it having come in for significant amounts of criticism in recent years.
Interestingly, the same question was also posed to women gamers:
1. Nintendo (59.5%
2. Bandai (22%)
3. Sega (21.5)
4. Namco (20.3%)
5. Square Enix (15.4)

You should find one for the United States.
But I'm suprised to see Sega, concerning the blunders they've been making.
But Square has been pumping ot some good games so I'm not suprised at all.

This may be damning news for Sony but Xbox has never been popular in Japan so it's business as usual for them. I think the only reason Xbox sales picked up in Japan recently was because they basically dropped support for PS2 and went with 360 for Final Fantasy 11. It seemed like a marketing move to me at least.

I only posted this because retro news is so slow right after E3. I thought the Bandai part was interesting.

Okay so why are Bandai and Namco desperate, but Square and Enix aren't?

Also, is that link correct? The closest thing on that site to video game related is the ad for a camera. (As far as I can tell.)

That is supposed to say: "Okay so why are Bandai and Namco separate, but Square and Enix aren't?"

So I guess this part taken from the translation is supposed to answer my Bandai/Namco question:
"Bermuda and Namco Bandai , the vendor , " Namco "is asking for software to be integrated into the end of March 2009 . Ranking respectively described by the manufacturer , " Bandai "," Namco " hotel is ."

I do love a good playacting idea from time to time. By the way, Bandai Namco is responsible for the Digimon World series, and this company runs under that banner for coordinated projects.

Actually, it was supposed to say disparate at least it would appear that way because it says "desperate". That and the meaning is very like that of separate.
