Zelda Retrospect vol.1 - The Olden Times

[Kugyince]

Back in 1992, when I was only 2 years old, by dad bought me my first ever console - the NES. I had games like Super Mario Bros. 3, Dr. Mario, Ice Climbers, Knight Rider and more, but as you might imagine The Legend of Zelda, with its gold cartridge, stood out among the rest. Funny enough, I never liked it that much. That mostly comes due to the fact that I was freaking 2 years old and had no idea what the firefly was going on in the game or why I should care.

Then I got the Adventure of Link around 1994, and having never finished the original game, it was the first time I set my eyes on that fabled princess. The whole "franchise" up to that point had this mysterious magical feel to it, but of course I'm watching it through rose tinted glasses as I could hardly tell my socks from the toilet seat at that time.

I like: LTTP, Phantom Hourglass, and Four Swords.

I like all of the zelda games, with the exeption of Spirit Tracks. To me, it just didn't feel like a zelda game, and the spirit flute parts were frustrating because even if you played correctly, the game would think it was wrong. I felt this way about Zelda 2 before I beat it. Maybe if I beat Spirit Tracks, my opinion will change.
