Intro Story
It's the year 200X, Dr. Wily has sworn that he has changed his evil ways and joins Dr. Light (or Right if you're from Japan) to work on a new robot named "Gamma." Suddenly the 8 robot masters that were in charge of the "mining worlds" go bananas and steal some power crystals. So it's up to Megaman to go and take back those power crystals with extreme prejudice.
Then out of nowhere, Dr. Wily goes crazy again and steals "Gamma." Looks like Wily's up to his old tricks again and trying to rule the world. Who would have seen that coming?!

Robot Masters
You start off at the boss select screen and get 8 new robot masters to fight against. Each boss having a unique weapon that is passed on to Megaman's arsenal after being defeated. As with all titles in the Megaman series, each weapon you acquire is a natural weakness to one of the other robot masters. The weapons vary in range from long range with limited homing capabilities, mid-range and short ranged physical attacks. The "boss battle" theme has also been changed to a great new beat!

Protoman
Most of us already know who and what Protoman is, but I'll leave those details out for another review in the near future.
A mysteirous new robot appears through out the game. Whether he is a friend or foe it is still undetermined at this time. This red clad robot appears after you hear his signature whistle in certain stages to give you some light excercise. After you've caused enough damage, he'll leave as quickly as he appeared. On other occasions, he'll just blast open a blocked path for you.

New Abilities
Also making a big debut to the series is Megaman's faithful companion Rush, a mechanical dog that can transform into three different forms to help you get to those hard to reach places. Rush is replacing the old "Item" weapon system keeping only the "jet" ability with the added bonus of being able to jump. (While jumping on "Rush Jet" your weapon energy bar will not drain)The new assists are the Rush Coil and Rush Submarine. And like in it's predecessor, Rush will only be usable after defeating certain Robot Masters.
Another addition to Megaman's abilities is the "slide." The "slide" is usable from the beginning of the game and gave Megaman a quick movement to help avoid any dangers coming at him. This also gave the Blue Bomber a way to go past short openings too small for him to fit otherwise.

Stages
The stages in Megaman 3 are well developed, directing you in all directions as you progress thru the stages. No Megaman game would be complete without spikes and death pits in it. Also brought back are the disappearing platforms that you may remember from Heat Man's stage in part 2.
There are some recognizable enemies coming back from previous titles along with some new recruits to stop you with projectiles or just throwing themselves at you.
Depending on who you ask, the music soundtrack for MM3 is just as good or even better than MM2, but in the end mostly everyone will agree that MM3's music is fantastic.

Wily's Castle
http://wiiclube.uol.com.br/virtualconsole/imagens/nes__megaman3_29.jpg
Yep, another castle with even tougher levels than before. However, before you actually set foot in the castle, you'll be introduced to a big surprise. Four mystery robots have taken over four stages: Spark Man, Needle Man, Gemini Man and Shadow Man. These stages have been modified and are tougher since your previous visit. The identity of these "mystery" robots really will surprise you! Muahahaha!
As always, at the end of every castle you'll end up in a chamber room to have a rematch with all 8 Robot Masters before actually confronting Dr. Wily.

GRAPHICS = :star::star::star::star:
The graphics are great and up to par with any game around at the time. The only reason it doesn't get the 5 stars is because it doesn't improve too much from it's predecessor.
SOUND = :star::star::star::star::star:
The soundtrack is da bomb!
REPLAY VALUE = :star::star::star::star:
I bought this for a reason too. I love playing this over and over again.
CHALLENGE = :star::star::star:
Death is around in every corner. Long stages with lots of pain just waiting to happen. The only draw back is that there are too many life energy and weapon recharges lying around in Wily's castle. That and there's no "Hard" mode.
TILT = :star::star::star::star:
Overall this game meets and exceeds most of my expectations.
Capcom really didn't have to tell you more.
