I was doing my normal surf in the series of tubes known as the Internet, when I stumbled upon an interesting tidbit of news about the latest in the Legend of Zelda series. According to Shigeru Miyamoto, “We are trying to make Zelda, which has become very complicated, easier to play.” This quote made me think to myself, and I began to get nostalgic. Easier to play? First thing I thought was; “They are going to get rid of the Water Temple?” I laughed to myself. I began to think about the difficulty of Zelda games in particular. I’d have to say their difficulty fluctuated up and down to an extent, but games as a whole?

Remember when games were unforgiving? One shot and you were dead! You needed a code to beat Contra for pete’s sake. What about the Wind in Ninja Gaiden, or the Medusa heads in Castelvaina spawning right when you jumped? What about when you had to, at the very least, collect items to restore your health? Now you can just hide behind a rock until your screen turns from red back to normal. Every soldier in Call of Duty can regenerate, isn’t that a wonderful thought?

Casual gamers are the modern market, as is evident with the latest instalment of the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 2.

Games in the modern era are more suited to the newbie in general, albeit, there are a few games that still require you to use your brain or are just frustratingly difficult.

People in general are more laid back with games, unless you participate in MLG or something.

Games are definitely getting easier.

It feels like fighting games are the ones that are geared for all levels of play.

Haven't they always been though?
The bosses in fighting games are still a pain.
How about Jinpachi from Tekken 5?
He has a mouth on his stomach that shoots a mega-laser that does at least sixty percent damage.

When you lose he destroys the world.

The final boss of Tekken 6 looks tougher.
I heard it's a breeze with Eddy though.

Any character in Tekken is easy with Eddy.

I like Eddy, he's Brazilian like me.

That's cool.
I don't like the fact that he's cheap.
If your post was misread, it may have sounded racist.
It'd be like me saying "I like Snake, he's white like me."
Which would automatically be counted as racist because I am stating the fact that I am white, and like Snake for that fact.

Capoeira is epic, even though it's technically a dance, you can also fight with it.
Just watch these two guys:

Earlier today i was playing the coin-op of Super Street Fighter: The New Challengers at a laundromat and i couldn't get past the second fight. Apparently the coin-op is harder then the console version

9 times outta 10 the console version of a game is easier than the coin op.

Jinpachi was pretty cheap but you left out the worst part of the fight, a strange camera angle that is only used on that fight. It gives you less chance to avoid his cheap stuff and he shoots some big energy blast that's already unblockable. Like most fighting games bosses he's only hard because he doesn't fight fair.

No, I was wrong. I was very tired and I apologize for the rudeness of my post.

Anyway, DB is right about the camera angle making Jinpachi a hard fight.

Also, not all games are getting easier, 'Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?' has the same unforgiving jump mechanics the old
Castlevania had., you can also only take three hits before death.

Contra 4 was brutal and awesome too.
