There sure are a lot of videogames being released these days. Why, a man could spend all day playing them and still never be able to keep up with just the good releases! And with so many selections to choose from, why would anyone spend time dwelling on games that never saw the light of day?
Lots of reasons, really. Sometimes those cancelled titles were games we really wanted to play. Sometimes, they looked so dreadfully awful we want to give them a shot just for their comedic value. But more importantly, the circumstances around these games' near-life and untimely demise can be downright fascinating.
We love to look back on videogames that never quite happened simply because they're valuable curios of this young medium's history, important artifacts that reveal a great deal about the nature of the industry. We also love them because of the illicit thrill of getting our hands on something we were never meant to experience.
