What is Portal?

It's an awesome, awesome first-person shooter by Valve (they've done Half-Life, Counter-Strike and Team Fortress 2), though it's closer in mood to the Metroid Prime games.

Essentially, you become this test subject in some facility and are given a weapon called the portal gun, which fires blue and orange portals; you go in the orange one, you come out the blue, and vice versa. It can't be used to directly attack anything (not that there's a whole lot of things to be attacked), but instead, you have to use the objects around you to complete tasks and such. All the while, there's this AI named GLaDOS who's watching you and occasionally taunts you, like a kinder, gentler SHODAN (System Shock 2).

Anyway, it's a lot better than I can make it sound; it's a short game (maybe two hours), but it's awesome to play through. Also, it's free, so it's not like you're losing anything by trying it out.

Screw steam. They won't let me re-install my game of half life onto my home computer because I temporarily put it on my Grandpas computer. Can't even play it on there now since it was uninstalled. Screw those pirates known as steam, it's my game and I should be allowed to install it on as many of my computers as I like. You still need the disc to play anyways.

Portal is technically FPS but it's really a puzzle game, one of the coolest ever imo. I think everyone should at least try it once. Btw it can be bought for 360 or PS3 for dirt cheap as part of the Orange Box(includes Half Life2 and Team Fortress as well).

Besides all that Portal gave us this cool song-
