It is the prequel. It is older. It is the first in the series and the story is canonical. The game play is slightly different. It is a Dungeon Crawler.

I just lightly played it and honestly I perfer SF2 (SF on here) game play much more than this.

indeed, 'Darksol' name what made me think this was related to Shining Force.

Lets bump this after 3+ years.

I'm going for mastery on this. I have beaten it once before just not on here. I even had to break out graph paper and start making maps again.

An update:

I have beaten the Trials of Strength, Courage, Truth, and Wisdom.

Now there are 4 more levels left, and it gets much harder from here on.
