Ok so last year Nickelodeon bought all the rights for the TMNT and announced the plans for a live action movie and a CGI TV series in the near future.

TMNT co-creator Peter Laird lets us in on some nice details regarding the upcoming live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
When asked in what direction the new film will be taking Peter Laird had the following to say:

“I can say that at this point there are a lot of positive feelings about a ‘Batman Begins’-style ‘reboot,’ which would, of necessity, include a retelling of the Turtles’ origin story,” Laird told MTV News of early plot discussions regarding the film. “Having said that, I would also be into an all-new story, if it was decided that that was a more desirable direction. Either way is fine with me, to be honest!”

Here's a sneak peak at what the turtles might look like.

I was skeptical at first but after seeing those pics I'm on board. I think a realistic looking turtle mutant is a badass idea, can't wait.

I really want to see a darker story and more realistic looking turtles. I actually hadn't heard about this movie untill about two days ago.

I can't wait to see this. Especially if it follows like the 1990's movies.

and make it funny too.

The site said that the picture of what the turtles could look like was a lie.
It could be a good movie, but I'd love it to be wonderfully terrible like the ones from the 1990s.

It won't ever be the same and I believe Bay is a moron for even trying to remake that movie series. It didn't work with TMNT, the last movie they tried.

How do you know? Maybe it's leaked stuff from the announced movie?

I think Micheal Bay sucks and he'll most likely turn this into a piece of over hyped crap but I'll probably see it either way.

I don't think i'll watch his remake of the TMNT movies. He did a decent job on Transformers but i can't stand to see my childhood favorite remade

Check the date on the Michael Bay announcement, it was from 2 years ago. Hollywood gossip.

In the entertainment world, "in talks with" means either a)someone asked someone about it and that director said, "eh, maybe", or b)the project is in limbo, and the studio has some columnist write a story about a favor of the month director/actor/producer/screenwriter showing interest in the project to remind the world that the project exists.
