Are video games still considered nerdy? Everyone is doing it

Games might have started out a family thing in the beginning but quickly became something that had a following once it evolved into more than just pong. For a while, gamers were ridiculed by either being made fun of or just being in the stereotype of living in your parents basement playing games through the night. Sure, some actually still do this, but with the broad range of new genres, the release of the Wii and the plethora of motion control games, games are for everyone now and not just the “nerds.” Can video games still be considered nerdy, because it seems like everybody nowadays is doing it.

I think games have gone way more mainstream then they used to be. I'm proud to be a nerd, but just playing video games doesn't make you a nerd.
