Final Doom, Doom 64: Why all the hate?

I noticed a lot that Doom 64 and Final doom always get bad or mediocre raps, some people (such as myself) like both of these games, So I'm just asking your opinion, you'd know more than I do. Why all the hate for Final Doom and Doom 64? They were doom, and they seemed like... Well, Doom to me. I liked them, what's with the bad rep for them?

Only thing it's missing is the music I think. At least the hacked one I have for Dreamcast that I have doesn't have music. Could just be an issue. Steven, you should have it. On that Doom thing I sent you, gives you Ultimate Doom, Doom II and two others called "Plutonia Experiment" and "TNT Evolution" those are the episodes of final doom.

You sent me doom? I know you sent me half-life and blue shift, sorry my memory isnt all that great. Anyway got a bunch of dooms for the wii, the numbchuck-wiimote combo works awsome on them.

Hacked or released, if they actually released doom on the wii. I'm all there... maybe, forgot about lame motion controls.

Anyways, just checked TNT Evilution has music, yeah Evilution, how evil. Plutonia experiment is just effing hard, so is TNT Evilution, but it definitely is way easier. Here is an example of TNT:

I've loved every Doom game up until the one on Xbox. I liked that one too but they changed it too much and some stuff was just stupid.

Doom was practically the first multi-player FPS.

I've never played Final Doom or Doom 64, but I assume that people didn't like the Nintendo 64 game because of the system.

I give cam credit for liking Doom since it got it's start when he was very young(or not even born?). I can understand young people not liking it nowdays because it looks so dated and it doesn't seem very original but when it came out it was the best thing in gaming for a long time. I'm sure some of the other older guys will disagree but I stand by my statement. Everyone loved doom, people even played at work.

What was dumb about Doom 3?
Mainly how they tried to make the game so dark and then they made you have to switch weapons to use your flashlight. I guess no one uses Duct tape in the future. Besides that it was an awesome game.

I didn't remember it well to be honest, last time I had seen the game was when I was like 6. We always had Doom 64, but I was too scared to play it as a kid. I never really did get to play it since my brother pawned it. But I saw doom available on Dreamcast last year and gave it a shot not remembering it well. I loved it, the first few levels I remembered well, but I only had ever seen the snes one since, well that's the console we had back in the day. At first, last year like any game of it's kind: I'm too jumpy to enjoy really, lol. I had enjoyed it, but it didn't scare me as much as I didn't like having things jump out at me and fearing for my life that I was going to die. I had been so scared of death when I fought the first bosses, all i had was a shotgun that time. I made it to like E3M4 or something last time I had played on Dreamcast, and I remember just shivering and while I was having loads of fun. I was always near the 0% health mark that I just couldn't take it anymore. Hadn't played it for a while until I did my youtube vids of it, in which I played on Nightmare seeing how long I could survive. After that, I can play through like the first episode or two and just enjoy myself. Guess the game was just good enough that I got over the things jumping out at me.
I'll have to admit that I was so spoked by some of the new enemies that popped out at me in Final Doom yesterday that I did freak a bit. It all adds to the fun though.

I didn't say the whole thing was dumb just some stuff. Besides the flashlight I also didn't like the apparently random enemy spawns. Maybe I didn't play it enough but it seemed like they'd keep throwing imps in spots I just checked.

Besides a couple things it was a cool game.
