For my 1000th post, YouTube- Broadcast Yourself. , I thought it would be appropriate for it to be on my favorite video game character's greatest game.
Story:
It's been one year since Captain Falcon won the F-Zero Grand Prix and ruler of
the underworld, Deathborn, is determined to make the racing belt his by sending
Black Shadow to do his bidding.
After routine training, defeating his rival Samurai Goroh in a Red Canyon
showdown, and helping Silver Neelsen make some money, Captain Falcon heads
to the Lightning stations outside of Mute City to stop Black Shadow from cutting
power to the city. Unfortunately, the Falcon fails in stoping Shadow and he is
captured and straped to a bomb rigged Blue Falcon, but he escapes his bindings
and successfully removes the bomb from the moving vehicle.
After Captain Falcon wins the Grand Prix, Deathborn executes Black Shadow and
challenges Captain Falcon to a one-on-one race in the underworld. It is there
where Deathborn reveals both his belt and the Grand Prix Belt contain massive
magical power and if one were to combine them, they would have supreme control
over the universe. But, a determined Falcon kills Deathbirn and takes the supreme
power as his, and decides to leave it as a trophy on the wall.
In his lair, Captain Falcon is approached by the god of the F-Zero universe
claiming he will become its slave for eternity and keep the supreme power for its
own, unless the Falcon can defeat it in a race.
In the end, after he defeats god, Captain Falcon decides to celebrate and removes his helmet.
Gameplay:
F-Zero GX is a fast-pace racing title, with courses that bend in multiple directions and have a massive 30 racer count.
As with every F-Zero game, you chose from one of 30 different racers and choose
between one of four cups to race on with 4 difficulty settings, Novice, Standard,
Expert, and Master.
Every race constists of 3 laps around the entire track, while on the second lap you
gain boost which allows players to shed energy for a quick boost in speed.
If you are to run out of energy, you total your racer and have to start from the
beggining. Energy can be recharged from recharging pads along the sides of the
track. Speed boosts can also be obtained from various Boost Pads along the
course.
Finally, racers can engage in combat by either raming the vehicles or spin attacking
their oppenents.
Outside of the Grand Prix, you can customize new race cars using parts you've
purchased using the points you earn from Story or Grand Prix mode.
Grapics:

While F-Zero X looked very poor, the opposite can be said for GX, the
environments are prestine but barron, allowing for no slowdowns especially
concerning the massive amount of action occuring onscreen, I've yet to find one
slowdown in gameplay.
Sound:
F-Zero GX has a soundtack you'd expect from an F-Zero game, each varrying in
tones but still improve the heart-pounding experience.
Fire Field:

Big Blue:

Green Planet:

Lightning:

Mute City (alternate song):
YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.
Challenge:
One thing this will do, is drive you crazy with its relentless difficulty, and
unfortunately that's at the easier difficulties, but on master difficulty, which is
required to unlock the F-Zero AX tracks, it's brutal.
Overall:
Aside from the outlandish difficulty, F-Zero GX is an excelent title I'd recomend to
anyone, if you're willing to take the heat that is.
4.5/5
