Let's talk about board games. And I don't mean Monopoly, I mean nerdy games. Today I played a game called The Adventurers. I went through a room where the walls were closing in, down a corridor where a boulder was rolling behind me. My friend was crushed by the boulder. I then jumped on a rock that was in some lava, and it crumbled beneath me. I fell into the lava to my death.

It was awesome. I also have been playing Settlers Of Catan, and want to play Blood Bowl but it looks like quite the time investment to learn the rules.

So what's everyone's favorite board game? Any suggestions?

I would like to play more D&D. I have 1 group friends that claims they want to play but is never available. Then I have a lady friend (OMG!) that told me we were going to play with her friends one night, but that fell through.

I got Carcasonne for Christmas, but haven't been able to get anyone to play with me.

Settlers of Catan is a great game. My wife and I love to play that game. We play a bunch of card games at our house; Uno and Phase 10 to name a couple.

With two young daughters in the house though it is mainly Candy Land, Princess Monopoly and Chutes and Ladders.

I'm with Tenser, what's wrong with Monopoly?

I haven't played a real board game in YEARS. One that sticks out in my mind was the pokemon one.

Amazon.com: Pokemon Master Trainer 2001: Toys & Games

Good times in latch key playing this.

Monopoly is a great game! I would play it often when I was a kid. A friend of mine had Mousetrap, but it sucked. I was also into Magic the Gathering for a while. Now I prefer a game of Dominos with the same friends I played Monopoly with and an ice chest full of beers.

Monopoly is real fun, especially the NFL edition. I used to Have Pokemon Master Trainer and the original Game of LIfe.

Me and some friends have been playing Three Dragon Ante for a few years... Always a good reason to get together and chill.

We don't really play role playing (since we were 13), it's just a good game.

Looks like a Magic the Gathering type of game. Has anyone ever played Illuminati?

Monopoly is a classic, but it gets old fast. When's the last time anyone played a complete game of Monopoly?

Risk is probably one of the greatest board games of all time, and my personal favorite.
Stratego brings back great memories. My brother and I used to play that growing up.
I've never heard of the Adventurers or Settlers of Catan, but they look cool.

For party games, I've always liked Taboo and Balderdash.

My favorite board game is Pirateer. It's fairly simple, but fun.

I also like Risk(when I can actually get someone to play against me), Battleship, Scattergories, Monopoly and Yahtzee.

Nothing is wrong with Monopoly, I just already know about it. I want suggestions for new games that are not traditional.

I highly recommend you get into Axis and Allies. You will not regret it.

If you play video Monopoly you can play a game in around 15-20 minutes.

i rented taboo for nes when i was a kid, ruined my weekend. funny thing is my mom would never let me rent it, i think i rented it with the babysitter.

I remember renting that and hating it so much. I then forgot about it later on and rented it again. Childhood trauma ensued.

Fun Fact: Taboo is the only officially released NES game with nudity in it.

Nothing is wrong with Monopoly, I just already know about it. I want suggestions for new games that are not traditional.

Omega Virus was a blast!

we had the best strategies figured out and each game would play out essentially the same.
