In all honesty do you guys think that the wII video game system will take a coin form PS3 an Xbox 360 and begin making more DlC related games? rock band and etc proves that its possible to a point.. but do you think it would be possible for games such as Super smash bros Brawl or the new fighter Tatsunaku VS capcom?
Dlc related games: games that have downloadable add ons, like characters stages, items, and such.

I see no reason why they won't continue this trend. Microsoft and Sony are already practically robbing people as it is, Nintendo might as well jump on the gravy train while it's still hot.

yes, there is money to be made. i am unsure if it will be as successful as xbla.

i think nintendo prefers to give there customers the whole game at once.

Well said Cassidy.
I don't like how Sony and Microsoft make people pay more than $60 dollars just to get more of what they should have gotten when they paid for in the first place.

Indeed. Production companies must obtain permission from Nintendo to offer DLC for their Wii games.
The basic stance Nintendo takes is that to allow DLC:
A) The new content was not available upon production of the game (new songs that are released afterwards)
-or-
B) There was not enough space left on the retail disc
-or-
C) It was a WiiWare title (FFIV: TAY)

Things may be ok atm but I can assure you they will follow the trend eventually.

Got anything to back up that assurance or are you just throwing out uninformed opinions posing as affirmed statements?

What do you think? Of course I don't have anything to back it up, it's my assumption. Sorry if I'm pessimistic but I doubt Nintendo will stay away from the cash cow for long.

Same here. But I admit that id like to see more add ons for games LIKE smash bros, and such.. I may not like having to PAY for them.. but I probably would anyway..

I think add ons are a great idea as long as they are actually additions to the game and not just content taken out to make more money. Unfortunately this seems to be the trend. I have my doubts about Nintendo staying out of it but if they do I think it will be a great thing for their credibility in the gaming community.

Yeah man, damn, there is a lot of DLC hate in this thread. DLC is awesome frequently. There is a bunch of awesome looking Fallout 3 DLC, Borderlands DLC, Fable 2 DLC, GTA IV DLC, and none of that is stuff that should have been on the disc. It is an add on that gives you more if you want more of that game. That's awesome. Nothing wrong with that.
I know there is lame stuff like paying for Darth Vader in Soul Caliber IV and costumes in SFIV and stuff like that, but who cares? Don't buy it.

I think we all understand the simplicity of not buying any DLC that we don't want. We're mostly addressing concerns that devs can and sometimes do remove original game content so they can market it later on.

also, forcing the developers to make sure a game is rock solid before its shipped, rather then have them rely on patches to fix it up.
boy your up early ten.

such as assassin's creed 2, 2 chapters were taken out, and a hidden level in order to be used for dlc and a deal with gamestop.

From what I learned about Disgaea DLC, is they add part of their code in the game, (so if you hack it they would freeze the game) and what you buy is the rest of the code to play as said character. It's a bummer they do that big time. But, I like playing as Demon Lord Hanako so idc.
